What does the world tell you?
For betas, a lot of the world tells you to man up and fake it to you make it. What they really mean is man up in an alpha way. This can cause a lot of people to try and become someone they’re not. It’s time to embrace your most authentic self and move past the fraud.
British Psychology states that imposter syndrome hits men harder than women. Imposter syndrome can also mean being a peacock or puffing out.
Do you ever feel like a kid playing dress-up in reality? Billy did, and he couldn’t keep it up. It wasn’t until later in life that he was able to take that mask off. There are rooms of people like Billy.
Now I have a seat at the table and have a different skill set to bring and people appreciate that.
How did Brandy fall in love with a beta like Billy?
Brandy knew Billy would love her more than she loved herself and would accept her for who she is. Where Billy and Brandy live, it’s not really culturally acceptable to be a beta. Brandy and Billy aren’t the typical southern family. Brandy doesn’t cook, Billy does, and he loves it. Brandy doesn’t want to be a stay at home mom.
Through their marriage, Billy has been able to let Brandy be who she is and gave her permission to do so. They wanted to be 50/50 in everything together. It takes a really strong man to do that.
The number one comment people say on their relationship is, “well we know who wears the pants in this family” Billy responds with “I don’t even know what that means.”
Women will say things like, “We know Billy is sweet, compassionate, and kind but I’m sure he puts his foot down.” Brandy wonders what that means? Because Billy is the man, he gets to put his foot down?
The best, healthiest Billy is when he knows who and what he is, and he can impact the people he’s meant to impact. It’s such an easier load to carry than trying to be someone he’s not.
It’s okay to be mild at heart and it’s also okay to be wild at heart.

    Billy’s Story
The first time Billy took a drink was when he was 12 years old. After the first sip, he knew that there was something in that mixture that he needed to change himself. He knew alcohol changed people and he wanted to see what it would do for him. It was a year or so later when drank a case of beers by himself. He got intoxicated and he knew that he had to have more.
Billy had always been very insecure and uneasy in the world and in his skin. He was highly insecure, waiting for someone to validate him. He had a lot of anxiety at a young age, and he used alcohol to try and get rid of that, and his insecurity. He was confused about life, very sensitive, and felt more than most, to the point that it overwhelmed him where he wanted to numb those feelings.

Drinking over his teenage and college years was a lot of fun and it was exciting. He never felt like he fit in, but when he had a drink, he felt like he did fit in.

After getting his wisdom teeth out, Billy experienced his first pill, at age 15. He thought, “I can’t wait to feel this again.” And for more than a decade, he chased that feeling. He was never able to obtain it.
Drunk Billy has dysfunctional coping mechanisms to the point where he had to go to rehab a week before Christmas for a whole 3 months. It was then that he began the journey into authenticity, and began to take down the layers to become more of himself.
The day he decided to stop, he knew something had changed and he was done. He’s now been done for 6 and a half years. What helped him get out of the bad habits was his willingness to self-actualize and be vulnerable. And through the process, he found this beta person.

  • Introduction To The Beta Male Revolution | Episode 1

In this podcast, Billy and Brandy Eldridge share an introduction to the Beta Male Revolution and what it means to be a beta male.

    Summary
Welcome to the Beta Male Revolution! Billy and Brandy have been married for nearly 12 years, and have three beautiful kids. In this podcast episode, they share an introduction to the Beta Male Revolution, what it means to be a beta male, as well as their own story.
What is the Beta Male Revolution?
Simply put, it’s reclaiming and redefining what the word ‘beta’ means. For Billy growing up, anything beta meant it wasn’t masculine, and even perhaps even meant it was anti-masculine. The journey in discovering his beta self has been very liberating to say the least.
A healthy beta male is a liberated man who pushes back against old social ideas that don’t work for some. Billy gets his feelings hurt a lot and he hasn’t had space where he can say that. Not verbalizing how he felt became very unhealthy. It’s about being vulnerable on this journey of self-actualizing. Billy is now less passive-aggressive and a better communicator.
In this podcast, Billy and Brandy hope to start crucial conversations, unfolding their own story, and exploring men’s issues. They’re open and vulnerable to talk about the things that have brought them to the place they are now.
    Billy and Brandy’s story
They met in 1996, having grown up in the same town but never crossed paths. Brandy had dated his roommate, and his roommate was best friends with Billy’s current girlfriend. They hung out as college kids. Billy then married his high school sweetheart and Brandy got engaged to Billy’s roommate.
They stayed friends for 10 years and Brandy was even the maid of honor at Billy’s wedding. Then due to some health issues, Brandy moved back home and Billy was going through a divorce. They hung out again and got married six weeks later.
    Embracing being beta
It’s okay to speak your truth. Billy was always seen as more emotional than some, and so he tried to cover that up and be someone he wasn’t to have more bravado. That also came in the form of alcohol and medication later on that helped him numb some of his sensitivity to allow him to be someone he was “supposed” to be.

It was a lie I told myself for many years.

Trying to sweep it under the rug with alcohol and medication wasn’t working. In fact, it was causing more problems.
Throughout this podcast, they are going to share conversations that the world is craving. It isn’t anti-anything. We can all benefit from having open conversations with both alpha and beta. There is so much betas can bring to the table.
Let’s do this together and learn how to live a beta life. They hope the person listening to this gets freedom.
