I've been hearing 2 songs a lot lately about being broken. It has turned my thoughts to this episode originally published a year ago. What do you think about the idea of being broken? Give this a listen and hear some of my thoughts.
In this episode I share a few ideas on how to exoand our emotional vocabulary. This work will bring growth and connection. It is worth doing!
This episode piggybacks on last week's, so be sure to listen to that one first. I will complete the list of what a human brain needs. It doesn't REALLY NEED of these things. We can live without them,...many people do. We may have (probably have) already lived much of our lives without these skills. This list is for those who want to live intentionally!
Our human brain has a job to do. It looks for danger. It Looks for pleasure. It tries to do things the easy way. We need skills to help our lower brain. We need skills to navigate our human experience. In this episode I illustrate how I used skills to help me navigate an experience I had while on vacation. I invite you to use these skills in whatever you are going through in your life right now.
This episode originally aired December 2023. I invite you to consider anticipating rather than expecting. This is a small shift in our thinking that can have a great impact in our lives. Try it out and see what you think.
Here is a replay of an earlier episode that I think is a great example of strengthen our sense of self.
This episode aired earlier (number 5) as "I don't hang my emotions on others". This is one of the skills that I practice to make my life better now. It is an important skill and a challenging one. And it is not one that we will "arrive" at. It will be a lifelong practice. AND it does get easier with practice.
This is a replay of last year's Valentine's Day episode. I share some ideas on how you can approach this holiday intentionally and authentically. Do what works for you.
The work we do here in better than before betrayal is the work of healing and growth. We take responsibility for what is ours and leave the rest to others. What's yours is yours, what's theirs is theirs. We have zero responsibility for other peoples's choices, and yet, our brains like to tell us otherwise.
In this episode learn practices to strengthen your sense of self. This is vital work for your healing and creating a life you love.
