When Zach takes the helm, you know you are in for an interesting film and his selection of the Cuaron dystopian classic, Children of Men, does not disappoint! Hollywood's own, Jeremy Fraye, joins the discussion to bring some fresh and enlightening takes about this intriguing film, but also lets the guys try some of the tastiest tapenade you'll find this side of the Atlantic and it's available for you to order at papanadetapenade.com! Both the spread and the movie are highly recommended!
Does Adam Sandler have 15 draft-worthy movie roles? Brad, Nate, and Zach dare to find out as they sift through Sandler's extensive library of characters ranging from the hilarious, to the serious, to the downright terrible. Movie buff and admin of one of FaceBook's largest movie communities, Andrew Cromarty joins the pod to show which Sandlers he prefers... goofy with a zany voice Sandler or silly with a wacky voice Sandler.
What happens when your most memorable draft judge has a chance to select their own team? You bring in another memorable judge to choose a winner and you just pray they don't select Scotch Beck. Mo, who once did a 13 second quarter-mile in a Geo Tracker, shows up to bring his driving wisdom to the table to pick the team with the most memorable wheelpersons in movie history. Whether these drivers are running from the cops, chasing down bad guys, or drafting to set-up their big final move for the finish line, Mo knows driving and talking shit about bad drafts!
It's lights out and away we go discussing Ron Howard's outstanding film, Rush. Scotch Beck fills in for Nate who didn't qualify for this episode and the crew races in to such topics as borderline criminal hazing, Niki Lauda as Obi-Wan to James Hunt's Luke, and the return of everyone's favorite film, The Natural - parody porn version.
A BVK clip show??? WTF?!? No worries, we'll be back with normal operations next week, but this week you get to reminisce on all of our amazing sponsors who have whole-heartedly supported the BVK pod from episode 1. Great products like Sex Panther: by Odeon, 6 Minute Cigs, Velcro Wallets, WeNicknameYourPenis.com, McKenzie's RamVan, My Cocaine by Michael Caine, and of course the chart-topping new album from Autobahn, The Ballad of the Missing Toe! Please support these sponsors with all of your life-savings!
It's Oscar's season, so the BVK crew threw on their best sequined Prada gowns, walked the red carpet to the BVK outdoor studio, and drafted some of the best stuff from the 26 movies covered in the 6+ months of the BVK podcast. Oscar snubs were given their redemption, envelopes were misread and the BVK orchestra let a few people know when to STFU. Scotch Beck, of Price-Waterhouse, handed out the prized Bevy trophy to a deserving victor and the rest were left clapping for the winner with shitty fake smiles.
Like Jimmy Chitwood from the elbow, the BVK crew puts up some shots at being crowned the champion of the "best winning moment in a sports movie" draft. Kyle Bandujo, of the BIG SCREEN SPORTS PODCAST, keeps score to see who comes out ahead of this ultra-competitive episode. Dekes, pump fakes, and naked bootlegs galore as each pick brings the pressure up another level!
David Anspaugh (director of Hoosiers, Rudy) joins the BVK crew for their first ever legitimate "Drinking with the Director" segment! And while, one certain person (ahem... Brad) had just recently watched Hoosiers for the first time, a lot of great discussions take place including the best tactics to use to act drunk, why you should always cast real athletes in sports movies, and why you shouldn't make a "Director's Cut" of a film without involving the director.
