Welcome to The eX-Files, a Beyond Buffering podcast where hosts Jenny Owen Youngs and Kristin Russo cover The X-Files one episode at a time, spoiler free.

It’s the FINALE of Season 2 of the X-Files and Mulder is taking LSD to celebrate. Scully cannot believe she didn’t get an autopsy *or* a bath, but she did get to sit at Mulder’s bedside and get yelled at by several different men!! We have conspiracies aplenty, a full adult size alien (just add water!) and Mulder in his teeeeny little undies. It’s S2E25 “Anasazi”!

Producer LaToya Ferguson gives this episode a scary ranking of 1.25/5 Trained Killers, School of the Americas Alumni

See you next year for Season Three 👽

Welcome to Once More, With Spoilers, where Kristin Russo & Jenny Owen Youngs revisit every episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, one at a time — for the SECOND time! — this time discussing each episode with spoilers!

November 6, 2024 seems like a fitting day to say "Welcome to the Hellmouth," so let us get right to it. Darla is using her combination princess-voice and killer fangs to upend expectations, Cordelia is Cordelia-ing out, Giles has ALREADY CIRCLED A NEWSPAPER ARTICLE IN RED MARKER, Buffy takes her first trip to the Bronze after encountering a dark and brooding stranger in a nearby alley, Joyce's hair is so short, and Luke is BIG.

Welcome to Once More, With Spoilers, where Kristin Russo & Jenny Owen Youngs revisit every episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, one at a time — for the SECOND time! — this time discussing each episode with spoilers!

Buffy is grounded, we’ve got a cymbal decapitation, Giles is taking his glasses off, and Luke — may his precious biceps rest in peace — is giving us the gayest shit we have ever seen. We love it *almost* as much as Darla. It’s S1E2 “The Harvest”… once more with spoilers!!!

Let's all skip out on geometry review so we can MAKE OUT IN THE BOILER ROOM, huh?!?! Finally, we come to the inspiration point that gave our podcast its name! Meanwhile, Brian is SO MAD, Danielle knows a ton about crustaceans, Graham talks a good risotto game, and Rickie does a great impression of the new English teacher, Mr. Katimsky. OH AND ALSO JORDAN HOLDS ANGELA'S HAND IN THE HALLWAY. Plus, Buffalo Tom. *wipes brow* That's right, it's Episode 12: Self-Esteem.

Though we are discussing "Our Town" today, it is decidedly NOT the play by Thornton Wilder but rather an episode of The X-Files in which the townsfolk are dining on... other townsfolk! Cannibalism: the other red meat??
