April 28, 2021Practice Makes Progress - Beyond Sober Program Not everything is designed to give you an immediate result – We DRNK WATR today to feel the affects tomorrow. Alcohol gives us an immediate feeling ad this preys on our inability to practice patience. Any progress is further than NO progress – It doesn't matter if you're one hour sober or 100,000 hours. 50% of something is better than 100% of nothing. Your progress is yours and nobody holds more value than you. No practicing is equally as detrimental as drinking alcohol – If your NOT practicing new healthy habits then it's moving your forward equally to the distance of your last drink. Not moving forward is moving backwards. Energy and momentum drives acceptance and success – The more you practice, the more results you get. Those results (big or small) are larger than the 100% of nothing you were doing for years. Celebrate EVERYTHING! Aside from the physical importance and the medical benefits it's not killing you in any way whatsoever. Practicing self love – Drinking water, going outside, writing or journaling, anything that's giving time to yourself for the sake of creating inner peace or feeling productive. If it's not hurting you, it's helping you. Physical and mental fitness – Going to the gym, running, physical exercise, brain games, cognitive reserve, reading, watching documentaries, construction, balancing. Anything that can help you become more talented. Caring for others without sacrificing yourself – Listening to other people and practicing being there for them without getting involved with their drama. April 28, 2021You Get Good At Anything You Practice - Beyond Sober Program Even not practicing – Most people practice not practicing at all and they become the best that it. This puts them in a position of cycling behavior, and they never move further than their couch or those repetitive thoughts. Thinking healthy thoughts become our actions – What we think becomes what we do and they healthier our thought processes are the higher the chances of doing what's right for our mind and body instead of what destroys it. Emotionally reacting to external and internal information – Giving our emotions to external influences is 90% of the reason we self sabotage. Applying in a motion to something we can't control is not something you want to be good at. Saying NO to your unhealthy habits every time you have an emotion – Not rewarding your emotions with alcohol every time you feel something makes you the best at NOT killing yourself every time you start feeling alive. April 28, 2021Why Practice Habitual Thinking - Beyond Sober Program Predictability: When we know what were going to say or how were going to act you know how to gauge our emotions and apply them accordingly. This gives us the freedom to let certain emotions go in except more information. Comfort: When we're familiar with the emotion we allow healthy thoughts – healthy thoughts of the reason we make healthy decisions the more comfortable you are the more accurately you will interpret information. Familiarity: You know what you've trained yourself to do when you think that puts you in a position of the familiarity. The more familiar we are with our emotions the more confident we become in awkward situations and removes our desire to drink. Safety: You're able to examine a situation and determine if this is moving your forward or backwards. Objectively looking at information helps us feel safe. Where there's safety there's comfortability and confidence. Another reason not to drink. Simplicity: Once you get the hang of healthy habitual thinking it becomes effortless. April 28, 2021Is It Habit or Practice- Beyond Sober Program What we practice becomes a habit – It doesn't matter what we practice, eventually it will become a habit whether we're aware of it or not. If we don't practice measuring how heathy it is, we practice unhealthy behaviors. Practicing drinking alcohol became a bad habit over time – You get good at anything you practice. People glorify their ability to drink alcohol, and this adds to the social pressure of drinking more. This is not a good thing. Healthy habits are generally started on a conscious level then ruined – All healthy habits will be ruined if we don't practice patience. We want to finish and don't give ourselves enough time to bask in the glory of progress. Practicing something to improve yourself becomes a healthy habit – Anything that is designed to move us forward and improve our quality of life deserves our patience. Stop waiting for results that are based in time. What are we really practicing daily? How are you responding to your emotional triggers? – The way we respond is a practice on its own. April 28, 2021How We've Developed Unhealthy Habits - Beyond Sober Program We've been conditioned to accept someone else's bad habits – 90% of the house with created have been through some other person's influence or circumstantial based on our living arrangements. You don't have to own them. Unhealthy environments shape our habitual behavior – Anybody in an unhealthy environments will develop unhealthy habits place of safety, paranoia, and the need to please those they claim as an authority. We started a healthy habit the right way then veered off course – So many times start a healthy habit and don't see the results immediately which causes us to commit less and dwell more. This pulls us back to the bottle. Time solves all. Subliminal social pressure and political truths – Just because someone we care about is practicing, this doesn't mean it's our obligation to join in on the party. Most people have unhealthy habits disguised as accomplishments. Practicing applying our emotions in the wrong places: We feel that because we have an emotion, it needs to be applied somewhere. April 28, 2021Life Is Habitual - Beyond Sober Program 90 percent of what we practice is habitual – Almost everything we do is based on repetition. We different variations of the same thing every day. Over time our life becomes what we practice We get good at anything we practice: Including NOT practicing – The repetitive nature of programing is how we get good ad killing ourselves. Or, rewarding yourself. Practicing NOT moving is a skill and not a skill we want. Not all habits are healthy and most times we don't even know it – Just because we are thinking healthy thoughts, that doesn't mean we are becoming healthy. Many things we do are bad because we practiced ignoring the truth out them. Not doing something bad, isn't doing something good for ourselves – Not drinking alcohol isn't the same as drinking more water. We've got to look at what we're practicing daily to determine if it's healthy for us. Developing one healthy habit does not replace a bad one – Adding one new habit doesn't outweigh the daily trauma cased by drinking alcohol. April 28, 2021Acceptance As An Artform - Beyond Sober Program Allowing ourselves to feel the emotions without numbing them out – Feeling are meant to be felt but don't have to be rerun for us to understand them. Study the emotion and write out what you understand. Understanding = Acceptance We're moving FORWARD and it's healthy to feel your feelings – Feeling our emotions are the indicators of our momentum. Numbing out the experience is forcing a perpetual loop of misunderstanding. This causes unnecessary fear. Investing in ourselves every single day moving forward – Everything we do is a practice in moving forward. We can't and won't go back to the person you were before. In the same way you won't be the alcoholic again once you're sober. Not comparing our position in life to those that have struggled less – What we see is the highlight reel of other people's journey. They have walked a different path and chances are you're doing better than them. People are going to challenge your superhuman abilities, this is good – "When you swim in the ocean, you attract bigger sharks". As you get healthier people will test your new strengths. April 28, 2021What's Truly Worth Accepting - Beyond Sober Program The fact that you're winning or learning – Weather you like it or not, you're never failing. You are learning whether you're consciously aware or not. You can't not learn as you're processing 11,000,000 bits if information per second. Accept it. Not everything is your burden to carry – You don't have to care because they do. Even the people you respect. They're self esteem and emotions are their burdens. People that pass their emotions off on you are unstable. You're the best version of yourself to this point and continuing to grow – If you were capable of being better than what you are now, you would be. You must accept you're at you're finest now given the circumstances. Be proud/ Anything that makes us happy, feel successful, or makes us money – If the circumstances, emotions, or movement doesn't contribute to these three areas, you're under no obligation to accept it. STOP DOING IT! The responsibility of our own thoughts and actions – You're ONLY responsible for you how you react to new information, your own thoughts, and how you treat yourself and others.
