  • Conflicting food choices

This is one of my favorite topics.  We face over 200 food choices on a daily bases.
Learning how to manage the conflicting food choices that we each face on a daily bases can be such an amazing tool.

I talk about why cognitive dissonance makes it hard to have conflicting beliefs.
I discuss questions to ask yourself.
Then once you decide what you want to eat, take the time to review the consequences of making that choice.
Own your choice, and then you don't need to make the decision good or bad.
Food is always a part of your live, and you don't need to villanizing  it.

I will help you understand that the food choices you make are not a reflection of you, they are about what beliefs you have chosen to align with the most.

  • Why Life Coaching? (The 3 INTANGIBLE GIFTS I received from coaching)

On the podcast this week I talk about the intangible gift I have received during the last year of life coaching.

    The intangible gifts are:
-awareness and accepting is the first step to making change
    -love is always an option
-I am in control of my emotions, and I can experience any and all emotions.

The emotions I gained were more love and confidence in myself and the gifts I have to share with others.

Life coaching has had such a profound effect on my life, and I love that I have a chance to share it with each one of you

  • How to live an ELEVATED life from insights while hiking the INCLINE

Welcome to 2021. We made it through 2020. On this weeks podcast I share with you some ways to take you life to new heights this years.

Some of the insights I share are:

-Creating a plan when you have a challenge in front of you
-Giving your attention to the people in your life that are going to support and lift you, and stop giving so much mental energy to those people in your life that are not helping you become better
-When you have a challenge in front of you realize that your brain on default will tell you "it is too hard". Remember you can choose to do something hard and you can achieve your goal if you realize we have evolved past  our caveman brains. We don't need to "stay in the cave and stay safe". Go out and set goals and experience the world.
-Asking the right questions to move us forward and stop getting stuck
-If the goal feels to big, break it down into small goals or steps
-the view at the top is the same no matter how fast you go up the incline

The incline teaches me so many lesson all while strengthen my body as I physcially take the challenge of the 2,768 climb to the top.

  • One step at a time with Jody Moore

On the podcast this week, we get to hear from my friend and personal life coach, Jody Moore. She is a master certified life coach.

    She gives such amazing advise.

I asked her what she would tell her younger self, and she said she would say
"take it one step at a time and learn to be patient through the process".

I share one of my coaching experience with Jody.  You will see how powerful her coaching has been in my life.

Another thing we discuss is finding what makes you feel alive.

The last thing we talk about is what her thoughts are about 2020.

Then I leave her with an invitation to come hike the incline here in Colorado.

We can really put this life lesson to the test, and take one step ( 2,766 steps) at a time to get to the top of the incline.

  • How Productive Is Your Discomfort?

"Discomfort is the currency to your dream" Brooke Castillo
I share two kinds of discomfort: Productive Discomfort and Unproductive Discomfort.
Productive discomfort is  neccessary to evole to the next version of yourself.  It moves you forward. You  eventually get freer and freer, and you find more comfort .
Unproductive discomfort is adding more suffering to an already uncomfortable situation, and it does not move you forward. It  keeps you stuck.

The more we practice  discomfort, the more comfortable it becomes, and we learn to tolerate it better.

    A few examples:
    working out
    healthy eating
    telling the truth
    saying no
honoring our own thoughts and feelings

We will all experience discomfort. What kind of discomfort will you choose?

  • Are your CIRCUMSTANCES neutral?

During the holiday, it is especially important to remember that our circumstances are neutral.

On the podcast this week I will share with you three ways in which we we may confuse a fact and a story.  We often think that our circumatance are not neutral.

The first way is we have a thought loop that we think so much in our lives that we just start thinking our thoughts are true, and we don't realize it is not part of the circumstances.

The second way is we find so many others to agree with us on our thinking, that we think it is part of the circumstance.

The last way is we create evidence that proves our thought, and we think that makes it a fact.

All three of the above  examples are still just our thought and sentences in our head, and they are not the facts.

Watch what stories our brain make up about the holidays.

I share a little exercise to try.

Write down the facts  of the story and then the rest are just your thoughts.

Once we sort out the facts from the thoughts, we see that it is the thoughts that are making us feel either positive or negative, and not actually the circumstances.

This become great new because we begin to understand,  we have control over our thoughts not our circumstances.
We are actually the ones who decides if something is positive or negative.

  • How to WANT what you have?

On the podcast this week I talk about how to live an abundant life by wanting what you have.

I share a fun little exercise. Write down 25 things that you want. Then look at the list and see if anything on the list  is something you already have. If not write down 25 things you WANT that you have.
Write down all the details that helps you want the thing you have, and do that for every item on your list.

I share a few examples of some of the things I want.

I also talk about how the movie Clouds really helped me view my life, and how it inspired me to live an abundant life with the time I have.

If you listen to this during the thanksgiving week, this will probaly be easier to do then other times of the year.  Regardless, try this exercise, and then assess how you feel after doing it.

I talk about a little oberservation you can make. Watch what happens from Thanksgiving Day to Black Friday. When we flip from all the abundance we have to all the things we need. Interesting to notice how we feel inside, and what diiferent feelings  we experience.

  • From SETBACKS to SUCCESS with Danielle Lewis (Dingman). Her journey to becoming a Professional Triathlete.

On this week's podcast, you get a chance to listen to an interview with Danielle Lewis (Dingman).  She became a professional triathlete in 2018.

We discuss her journey of following her dream to become a professional athlete.

Some of the things we discuss are some of the mantras she used to get back into things when setbacks came.

One thing she talks about is going toward your dreams and not resisting them.

She shares about a time after she had a big bike accident where she wondered if she would really be able to make her dream come true of becoming a professional athlete.

She decided in the beginning of 2017 that it was her year. She would say to herself "This is my year".  She started racing duathlons and triathlons, and she had so much success.  She won or was on the podium at every race,  and due to her success, she received her pro card at the end of 2017.

We also talk about how she became a triathlete, but she didn't really know how to swim.
She offers suggestions to those who don't swim or that are afraid to start doing triathlons because of the swim.

She has so much insight into how to keep going when times get challenging.
She says "always trying to improve and progress is the key,  and that if you keeping chipping away at it you can achieve your goals".

She is a perfect example of this.

You can follow her at danielledingman.com or on instagram and @danilewistri
