Cast Down, but Still Active
“And the great dragon was cast out—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.” - Revelation 12:9.
Picture this scene: Satan, the accuser, the deceiver, was thrown out of Heaven. He lost his right to stand before God as the ruler of this world, because Jesus won at the cross. Sounds like total victory, right? But here’s the detail: the text says he was hurled to the earth. That means he didn’t give up. He wasn’t destroyed yet. He was cast down to the very place where you and I live.
That means every single day you wake up in a battlefield. Life is not just about hanging out, studying, working, or following a routine. There’s a real enemy whose mission is crystal clear: to deceive, to derail, to destroy. He doesn’t play at being evil. He knows his time is short, so he goes all in—through distractions, addictions, pride, toxic relationships, or thoughts of failure. If you’ve ever felt like the fight inside you is bigger than you can handle, that’s exactly because you are in the middle of a spiritual war.
But here’s the good news: Satan was defeated at the cross. The blood of the Lamb gives victory to all who believe. That means you don’t have to live as a slave to the same failures over and over again. You don’t have to accept the lie that you can’t change. You have authority in Christ to resist.
Now think about it: which side are you living on today? Because there’s no neutral ground. Either you walk with the One who already won, or you get carried away by the lies of the defeated.
God’s call for you is clear: choose the victory that has already been won. Don’t fight alone. Run to Christ. Surrender to Him your struggles, your fears, your temptations. The accuser may shout, but before the blood of Jesus, he has no power over you.
Today, make the decision to live as someone who’s been set free. Pray right now: “Lord, I want to walk with You, live in Your victory, and never again be deceived by the enemy.”
The battle is real. But in Christ, the victory is already yours. Will you choose to live in that victory today?
