People who come to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ have God's seal placed on them.
God's seal  guarantees that we will take possession of the inheritance of ultimate and full salvation. What is this seal and how does it function? Is it an external or internal mark?

  • Up, Up,Up and Away!

Forty days after Jesus of Nazareth was raised from the dead he physically ascended into heaven. Luke records the event for us in Luke 24:49 and in Acts 1:9-11. Jesus started speaking of ascension, that is he return to the Father in heaven in the first few weeks of his ministry. He stressed it in the hours he shared with the disciple in the upper room just prior to the events unfolded that resulted in his crucifixion and burial followed three days later with his being raised back to life.  For 40 days he came and went in various meeting with his disciples teaching them and giving them the message they were to preach and teach others. The record of this is found in the gospel narratives and the New Testament writings. Why was the return of Christ Jesus, the Word made flesh, the Son, to the presence of the Father so important to him? Why is it important to us?

  • The Resurrection Mandate

    Send us Fan Mail

Most Christians are familiar with what is often term the Great Commission recorded in  Matthew 28. But Jesus gives direct orders to his disciples several times between the day of his rising from the dead and his physical ascension into heaven. In fact his direct orders are given to the gathered Apostles and other believers with them in the room where they were gathered behind locked doors. The event and the summary substance of the conversation is recorded in John 20:19ff and Luke 24:44ff.
The authority for the mandate is given and Jesus teaches them in detail how he was written about in the Scriptures- the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms. Proclaiming Jesus as the Messiah and his fulfillment of these writings by retell events from his life, ministry and the sufferings and death, burial and resurrection was the message. He gave them the promised Holy Spirit to accompany their words of witness.

Almost weekly I get an email notice of photos of me activities and people I was with on that day. It stirs memories of them and events.
Peter was the designated leader of the apostolic band. In the gospel narratives we can see snapshots of him on certain days and what he did. Each photo has a title that details something about him. Seeing and hearing him may reveal your own life.

  • Joy in the Trials of Life

    Send us Fan Mail

All of us have trials in life.  All of us have periods or times of grief brought about by those trials. These are common to all humanity, but the remarks of the Apostle Peter in first Peter chapter one are addressed primarily to Christians who are going through the trials of life in their faith journey.  As pilgrims through this world to the world that is to come, we are faced with various trials. Not only do we share the regular trials of life. in addition, Christians can sometimes also share in greater trials that are connected directly to our faith and its practice, and to our effort to disseminate the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ. Listen to Peter’s words on rejoicing in our trials: 1 Peter 1:3-9.

Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ we who have faith in him have been born again to a living hope! What is Christian hope? What exactly is this living hope?
Christians have an expectation of a wonderful future when Jesus Christ returns to earth. We have a living hope that can not disappoint because it is founded on the atoning work of Jesus, his victorious resurrection and ascension into heaven Our hope is a sure anchor already in heaven  where Christ has entered as our forerunner. We are even now receiving the salvation of our souls and then we will receive the fullness of eternal through our resurrection in immortal bodies. We have the future hope of full redemption - body soul--spirit.

Most Christians through the centuries beginning after the resurrection of Jesus and his appearances have gathered for corporate worship on the First Day (Sunday) of the week.  Yet the Mosaic covenant in the commandments specify the Seventh Day as the Sabbath.   What is explanation and how do Sabbath and First Day Christian Worship relate?

One week after Jesus arose from the he appeared again to them where the apostles had gathered. Thomas who had been absent the evening of Jesus resurrection when he had appeared was with them this time. He had expressed skepticism when the Ten had told him they had seen the Lord. This time Thomas is with them! Jesus suddenly appears and said to him: “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” John 20:27
