Episode 348
It’s almost time for the ‘ber months’ to begin and the Big Scary Show (g)hosts are very
excited that Spooky Season is almost here. There are Code Orange alerts happening
almost daily from retailers across the country as we eagerly anticipate the greatest
season of all. Unfortunately we still have a couple more weeks of summer to get
through but hopefully the Big Scary Show episode 348 will help make the time go by
faster as we bring you some extensive coverage of Midsummer Scream direct from
Long Beach, California If you missed the biggest Halloween show of the year a couple
weeks ago, don’t worry. There’s plenty of cool interviews that Badger will be bringing
you straight from the floor of the Long Beach Convention Center, so sit back, relax, and
enjoy.
Storm is ranting about job fairs in a Haunt Minute. Meathook Jim is talking a break , as this is a LOOONG Show, Badger brings you the latest in Deadline News. The Old Crone is talking about negative comments coming from your staff. We might have a Gruesome Giveaway winner for August. And finally, we’re spinning some rockin’ tunes to get you in the mood for Spooky Season.
The Roundtable of Terror revisits the cultural phenomenon that was the SyFy Channel's
’Face Off’. Now that the show is streaming on Nexflix and Peacock, we bring in a pair of
former contestants. Micah Ebbe from seasons 10-11 and Rick Prince from season 5 to
talk about their experiences, share what it was like behind the scenes, and find out what
Glen Hetrick was REALLY like. You know you enjoyed watching it, so come relive some
great memories from a fun reality show. All this and so much more.

Episode 347
Buckle up everyone, the Big Scary Show Episode 347 is going to be a wild ride. It’s not
only build, hiring, and actor training season, but there’s a LOT of conventions happening
across the country. Badger just wrapped up trips to Creepycon in Knoxville, TN and
Haunters Against Hate: The Event in Louisville, KY and brings you interviews from their
respective show floors. When this show drops, he’ll be in Long Beach, CA at
Midsummer Scream covering the event and gathering even more interviews. We sure
hope he’s getting frequent flyer miles. In the meantime, sit back and enjoy coverage
from these shows.
Storm is still on assignment, so we’re bringing you a ‘best of’ Haunt Minute. Meathook
Jim is talking to Damien Reaper in Between the Corpses, Badger brings you the
latest in Deadline News. The Old Crone is revisiting AI, with uses and pitfalls.
We have the Gruesome Giveaway for August. And finally, we’re
spinning some spooky tunes (courtesy of Midnight Syndicate). Why? Just because…
The Roundtable of Terror invites our good friends Ed Douglas and Gavin Goszka of the
aforementioned Midnight Syndicate to discuss some BIG news that they are
announcing. They’ve been working on some super-secret projects that they’re finally
revealing to all their fans. Also, could there be some new music coming out soon? I
guess you’ll just have to tune in to find out. All this and so much more.

Howdy everyone, welcome to August, and welcome to the Big Scary Show episode
346. It’s hot out there but the recent Texas Haunter’s Convention was even hotter. We
sent the Old Crone to Irving Texas to grab some interviews, teach a class, and have a
passel of fun. If you missed this year’s Texas Haunter’s Convention, be sure to make
your plans to attend in 2026. In the meantime, enjoy some interviews from this year’s
show.

August until the nest show, so be on the lookout for that. And finally, we’re spinning
some spooky tunes to celebrate the return of the ‘unofficial’ haunt season.
The Roundtable of Terror discusses the impact TikTok has had on society and the haunt
industry. We invite a trio of TikTokers to have a seat and discuss how they use it to
promote their haunts and their spooky side projects. Whether you’ve been using TikTok
for years, or think TikTok is just the sound a wristwatch makes, (and for you kids under
age 30, a wristwatch is a clock-like bracelet that you wear on your wrist that you
occasionally have to wind and makes a ticking sound), you can’t deny that this social
media platform can absolutely be useful for your haunt. All this and so much more.

As we saunter through July and towards August, building, hiring, actor training,
permitting and inspections are in full swing. Make no mistake, the hot weather isn’t

Quite possibly. And finally, we’re spinning some rockin’ tunes to celebrate the return of
the ‘unofficial’ haunt season.
The Roundtable of Terror concludes its actor trilogy by discussing keeping your haunt
actors safe. Each year, too many actors are injured either by acting in an unsafe
manner or by customers, or even unsafe sets. We had such a lively discussion last
episode that we brought back the same trio of actor trainers from the last roundtable to
continue our discussion on acting tips and techniques designed to keep you safe and
spooky this haunt season. If you’re a haunt actor, take notes because some of the
information discussed may help you this season. All this and so much more.

lot of good information and advice is doled out in this episode so if you’re a haunt

New BIG SCARY SHOW - Episode 341 - MHC IS COMING!
Episode 341
It’s almost June. The weather is warming up, the humidity is starting to rise, and
haunted house owners are busy hiring and working on their attractions for the Fall.
We’ve officially passed the halfway point to October and there’s a lot of work to be done.
Let the Big Scary Show Episode 341 keep you entertained and informed as you work on
your builds and make those building inspectors happy. (Remember, safety is sexy) After
all, it’s less than 5 months until the spooky season is upon us. Are you ready to panic
yet?
Storm is ranting in a Haunt Minute. Meathook Jim is talking to a very special guest in
Between the Corpses, Badger brings you the latest in Deadline News. The Old Crone
talks about making your emergency plans, and Vysther is back with his reflections on 13
years of podcasting. Do we have a Gruesome Giveaway for May? Stay tuned to find
out. Finally, we’re spinning some rockin’ tunes to get you in the mood while you sweat it

The Roundtable of Terror talks about the Midwest Haunters Convention coming soon to
Chicago. Of course we had to bring back our old friend Kris Zahrobsky from Transworld
to discuss all things MHC. We discuss the pre-show tours, the show floor, the classes
and educational tracks, and of course…the costume ball and other after hours events.
We also reminisce about MHC’s of the past. This is one of the best conventions out
there and a great way to fire up your actors and get them prepared for the upcoming
season. Get registered now or you’ll be kicking yourself if you miss it.

As we enter the month of May, haunts around the country are starting their hiring and
building seasons. There are also a few Halfway to Halloween events still going on so
look out for them. It could be your last chance to see your favorite haunt before the Fall.
In the meantime, we sent Badger to the East Coast Haunters Convention in
Philadelphia a couple weeks ago and he’s returned with a LOT of interviews and
coverage from their sophomore event. If you missed it, you’ll feel like you’re there. If you
want to attend next year, they’ve already announced the dates for 2026. Visit the ECHC
website for that information and plan to be there next year.
Storm is ranting about the most important question on the internet at the moment in a
Haunt Minute. Meathook Jim is talking to Julie Ibarra from the Haunted Hydro, on Between the Corpses,
Badger brings you the latest in Deadline News. And the Old Crone talks about using AI.
We have a brand new Gruesome Giveaway for May so listen carefully and enter the
contest since we didn’t have a winner last month. Finally, we’re spinning some spooky
tunes to get you in the mood while you start hiring and building your haunts.
The Roundtable of Terror tackles a rather difficult subject…abuse in the haunt
workplace, and not just from customers. There's a documentary coming out this October
that discusses untold behind-the-scenes stories in the haunted house industry. We sit down
with the filmmaker to find out why there was a need for a documentary like this. But
thankfully it's not all disturbing, there are also positive stories of what makes this industry so
special from those who work in it. However, there may be some subject matter that could be
difficult for some to hear. Consider yourself warned.
