As we celebrate the beginning of May, we officially move past the halfway point to
Halloween. In less than six months we’ll be enjoying the haunt season and all it has to
offer. Don’t think the (g)hosts aren’t aware of this and are already making plans for
spooky season. The day this show goes up, Meathook Jim and Badger will be at the
Ohio Haunters Convention in Mansfield and are hopefully gathering lots of interviews
and participating in other spooky stuff. Also, Badger was at the East Coast Haunters
Convention a couple weeks ago in Philadelphia and brings you plenty of interesting
interviews with haunt owners, vendors, and more. If you missed it, you’ll feel like you
were there. There’s a lot going on this episode so stay tuned.
Storm is ranting about AI obsessing over goblins in a Haunt Minute (yes, really).
Meathook Jim is bringing a new short horror story to Between the Corpses. Badger
brings you the latest in Deadline News. And the Old Crone is talking human resources
with the company Dreadful Damsels. We have a brand new Gruesome Giveaway for the
month of May so listen carefully for your chance to win. Finally, we’re spinning some
spooky tunes to celebrate halfway to Halloween
The Roundtable of Terror invites a former guest back for a followup. Dr Susan
Weidmann of Appalachian State University has spent the past couple years doing
research on Haunted Attractions and we discuss her findings on how haunted
attractions tell stories and how to give the customer the best bang for their buck. She
hopes to begin presenting the data at tradeshows and conventions in the very near
future. It’s an interesting conversation that we hope you’ll enjoy.

SCARY SHOW Episode 366.

Fourteen years ago on Friday the 13th of April 2014, the Big Scary Show hit the
internet, and the haunt industry has never been the same. It’s hard to believe that the
Big Scary Show has been entertaining, informing, interviewing, and covering the
Haunted Attraction Industry for so very long, watching it grow, evolve, adapt, and
become scarier and spookier each year. What started almost as a whim, has become
one of THE definitive voices in the industry and we’re showing no signs of slowing
down. There’s just too many haunted houses, conventions, haunt owners, staff,
animatronic builders, prop makers, and so much more that we've yet to cover, so stand
back, because we’re just getting started.
Storm is ranting about glowing gnomes in a Haunt Minute. Meathook Jim is back and
bringing a new segment of Between the Corpses featuring short horror stories. Badger
brings you the latest in Deadline News, plus an interview with Eddie from Woods of
Terror. And the Old Crone has a special interview with a couple who are debuting their
new product this year. We’re also featuring the second part of our Transworld coverage
because we had too many interviews to get them all on the last show. Do we have a
winner for the April Gruesome Giveaway? Stay tuned to find out. Finally, we’re spinning
some rockin’ tunes as you travel to and from Philadelphia for the East Coast Haunters
Convention.
The Roundtable of Terror celebrates our 14th anniversary with a laid-back conversation
featuring some close friends. We discuss what it’s like having been out there for 14
continuous years and all the great people we’ve met along our journey. Come relive
some of the memories of the past 14 years.

And just like that, Transworld 2026 is in the books. From the moment the doors opened,
Badger and the Old Crone were busy interviewing vendors, HAA members, and more to
get all the latest info on this year’s new products. Hopefully everyone has made it home
safe and sound and recovered from all the shenanigans. And if you weren’t fortunate
enough to make it to St Louis, you’ll feel like you’re there by listening to Episode 364 of
the Big Scary Show. We have a LOT of interviews coming up from some well-known
and maybe not-so-well known vendors. There’s so much content that this is only part
one, so stay tuned to our next show as well.
Storm is ranting in a Haunt Minute. Meathook Jim is prepping for a new Between the Corpses, tune in next show .
Badger brings you the latest in Deadline News, and the Old Crone has a special
interview with Allen Hopps. The Gruesome Giveaway is back for April so listen carefully
for your chance to win. Finally, we’re spinning some spooky tunes courtesy of Midnight
Syndicate as you recover from possible post-Transworld depression.
The Roundtable of Terror is taking a break this episode to make sure we can fit most
(but not all) of our Transworld coverage in this show. Stay tuned to Transworld
coverage, part II on our next episode as we also celebrate our 14th anniversary with a
roundtable featuring some close friends.

As we move into the month of March, we look forward to the days becoming longer,
temperatures may start warming up (slowly), and we continue our preparations to attend
Transworld. In just a few short weeks, Badger and the Old Crone are making the trek to
St Louis to cover the biggest Halloween Tradeshow of the year. If you’re vending at the
show this year, it’s time to kick things into high gear and try not to panic. One way to
stay focused is to tune into the Big Scary Show Episode 361 and hopefully we can keep
you informed and entertained while you finish those last-second props, animatronics,

As we continue to hibernate and attempt to stay warm, many of us are dreaming of the
day when the weather starts to warm up and we can get working on those haunts. Right
now it just seems too darn cold to want to do anything, but fear not, for there are those
hardy souls who are hard at work budgeting, planning, designing, and doing behind the
scenes work in order to get their haunts ready for this fall. We salute you, hardy souls.
Storm is ranting in a Haunt Minute. Meathook Jim is taking a brief hiatus from the show
to work on some secret stuff. Badger brings you the latest in Deadline News, and the
Old Crone is discussing social media influencing haunt guests with que line actor
Joseph Bodkin. We have a new Gruesome Giveaway for February so be sure to listen
carefully and enter. And finally, we’re spinning some spooky tunes to chill your blood to
match the outdoors.
The Roundtable of Terror begins its countdown to Transworld, the biggest Halloween
tradeshow of the year, which is happening in just a few short weeks. There’s so much
news about the show being released nowadays that sometimes it's hard to keep up.
Therefore, we bring in Kris Zahrobsky from Transworld to bring us all up to date and
make sense of it all. We cover everything you need to know about Transworld 2026 and
why YOU should head to St Louis in March and be a part of all the spooky fun. All this,
and so much more.

Some people actually like winter. The sight of the falling show triggers some beautiful
memories and is peaceful and pleasant to look at. Unfortunately, it’s also cold, blustery,
icy, and can cause a lot of headaches trying to get around. So instead of venturing out
into the cold, why not throw another log on the fire, pour yourself a hot toddy, and relax
to the dulcet tones of The Big Scary Show Episode 259, as we inform and entertain you
while we all try to get though the next couple months before the weather turns warmer.
Storm is ranting in a Haunt Minute. Meathook Jim continues his discussion on cryptids.
Badger brings you the latest in Deadline News, and the Old Crone is talking about
making the most of your winter downtime. Do we have a Gruesome Giveaway for
January? Stay tuned. Vysther returns with a tribute to the late Bob Burns and more. And
finally, we’re spinning some rockin’ tunes to get the blood flowing to stay warm.
The Roundtable of Terror is all about love. Specifically, Valentine’s Day haunted
attractions. That big holiday is coming up in just a couple weeks and a lot of haunts are
opening their doors to unsuspecting couples, no doubt to seal their doom for all eternity.
We bring in several haunt owners to discuss why this is a fun and unorthodox way to
celebrate the holiday and why YOU should go visit one. Whether you have a date or
not, the monsters inside won’t care if you're single. They just love the taste of human
flesh and delight in taking your souls. All this, and so much more.

Episode 358
As we say goodbye to the holiday season and settle into the long cold winter, take
solace in the fact that many haunters are not lounging at home huddled under blankets
trying to keep warm. Nope, they’re hard at work preparing for their Friday the 13th and
Valentine's Day haunts that will be opening in a few short weeks. Others are trying to
finish up those props, animatronics, and other items to show off at Transworld in St
Louis in just a couple months. The Big Scary Show (g)hosts are also hard at work
making sure you’re up to date on all the latest haunt news, information, and goings-on
in the industry, so pour yourself another hot cup of coffee (or tea), throw another log on
the fire, and enjoy Episode 358 of the Big Scary Show. That should keep you warm.
Storm is ranting about “What could POSSIBLY go wrong?” promotions in a Haunt
Minute. Meathook Jim continues his discussion on cryptids. Badger brings you the latest
in Deadline News, and the Old Crone is talking to David Cowger from Unknown Origin
FX. We have a brand-new Gruesome Giveaway for January so listen closely and be
sure to enter, and finally, we’re spinning some spooky tunes to keep the spirit of
Halloween alive during these long cold nights.
The Roundtable of Terror discusses the 2025 Home Haunter Awards. Did you visit an
amazing home haunt or drive past one during last season? Do you own a cool home
haunt and want more people to see the results of your hard work? Do you wish there
was a way to promote that awesome home haunt? We bring in the organizers of the
Home Haunter Awards Show to talk about what it takes to have an award winning home
haunt and why it’s important to recognize all that hard work and dedication. Nominations
for this year’s awards show are still being accepted for a couple more weeks so be sure
to get your submissions in ASAP. All this, and so much more.

year. You know what they say…”New year, new me” bla bla bla. We all know those
resolutions are going to be broken within a few weeks so let’s just concentrate on
making this year nice and spooky. After all, Valentine’s Day haunts will be firing up in
about a month, Transworld is only about 12 weeks away, and there’s already so much
to do. So let The Big Scary Show Episode 357 kick off your new year by keeping you
informed and entertained as we count down towards the next haunt season. After all,
it’s only 9 ½ short months away. (Are you panicking yet?)

about Cryptids. Badger brings you the latest in Deadline News, and the Old Crone is
talking about scheduling wisely in 2026. We may have a belated December Gruesome
Giveaway winner so stay tuned to find out who it might be, and finally, we’re spinning
some rockin’ tunes to warm the blood on these cold winter nights
The Roundtable of Terror looks back at 2025 with the (g)hosts sitting down and recalling
some of the things that made the past year unforgettable. Some were good, some were
fair, and others…not so good. But no matter, the (g)host all share their stories and make
some resolutions that they will no doubt break by February. Let’s relive some of the
moments that made 2025 what it was. All this, and so much more.
