Episode 356
Christmas is literally just a few days away and the Big Scary Show (g)hosts are busy
putting the finishing touches on their decorating, buying last minute gifts, and getting
into the holiday spirit. Nothing like some festive spirits to please the Halloween fan in all
of us, as long as those spirits don’t try to haunt us. As we wind down the year, we get a
little thoughtful and reflective and certainly send our best wishes for a happy and safe
holiday season to each and every one of our listeners. Let The Big Scary show Episode
356 be a part of your holiday traditions this year.
Storm is ranting in a Haunt Minute. Meathook Jim is a Christmas sabbatical for
Between the Corpses. Badger brings you the latest in Deadline News, and the Old
Crone is talking about the Crones of Winter. The December Gruesome Giveaway is
being extended until the 22nd to give everyone who wants to enter time to do so, and
finally, we’re spinning some holiday tunes (courtesy of Midnight Syndicate) to help get
you in the holiday spirit.
The Roundtable of Terror invites the originators of the traveling haunt actor, the original
Scab 5, to have a seat and talk about their long and storied careers. Over the past 30
years they have frightened, terrified, and entertained audiences all over the world and
probably caused more wet pants than you can count. If you enjoy watching good queue
line actors do their thing, or work as a freelance haunt actor, you can thank these five
haunters for paving the way. You do NOT want to miss their stories and conversations.
All this, and so much more.

Hard to believe it’s already December. Where has the time gone? It seems like only
yesterday that we were attending Transworld, East Coast Haunter’s Convention,
Midsummer Scream, and all the other conventions and tradeshows that we covered as
we prepared for spooky season. October came and went in a flash, and suddenly, it’s
almost the end of the year. To all of those who’ve followed us throughout the year, we
thank you. It’s been quite the year for the Big Scary Show and the (g)hosts can’t wait to
see what 2026 has to offer.
Storm is ranting about how AI just might be a form of demonic possession in a Haunt
Minute. Meathook Jim is taking the weekend off to got to Galaxy Con. Badger
brings you the latest in Deadline News, and the Old Crone is talking about winterizing
your haunt. We have a Gruesome Giveaway for December so be sure to enter for a

The leaves are falling, the weather is turning colder, and there are unmistakable signs
that another big holiday is coming up. Thanksgiving is the time where we give thanks for
everything we have. Isn't it nice to know that we can all be thankful for things like
Halloween? The (g)hosts hope each and every one of you enjoys spending time with
friends and family enjoying food, fellowship, and football. And be sure to tune into the
Big Scary Show Episode 354 before that tryptophan-induced food coma sets in.

The Roundtable of Terror discusses the mythos behind the scariest of the holiday
creatures, the Krampus. Who is this horned, anthropomorphic figure from Alpine folklore
who punishes the naughty children? Is it a truly horrific monster bent on devouring the
wicked? Is it merely to frighten children into being good? And why are Krampus-themed
events popping up all around the US? We bring in several guests who put on events
centered around Krampus to get their take on this legendary holiday creature. It’s a
fascinating conversation you better not miss or the Krampus might just come after YOU.
All this, and so much more.

And just like that…Halloween has come and gone. It was a busy October and so many
things were accomplished. There were haunted houses to visit, screams to create,
pumpkins to carve, decorations to make, candy to hand out, and so many more things
that make October special. Luckily there are still a few haunts keeping their doors open
this week and next before some of them begin gearing up for Holiday Season and
Krampus events. But just because the spooky season is over doesn’t mean the Big
Scary Show is going away. Be sure to stick around and see what the (g)hosts are
planning beyond the Halloween season.

invite some special guests to sit down and go into the meanings and symbolism behind
our favorite holiday(s). It’s a fascinating conversation you do not want to miss. All this,
