Former United States Attorney Bill McSwain returns to the Dom Giordano Program to discuss the upcoming democratic primary election for district attorney in Philadelphia, as Carlos Vega takes on incumbent Larry Krasner in a very contentious race. First, Giordano and McSwain speak about McSwain’s repeated battles with Krasner while serving as U.S. Attorney, including multiple instances of the federal office needing to step in to fix mistakes made by the Krasner office. Then, Giordano and McSwain discuss the broader goal of Krasner, being the reworking of the criminal justice system, explaining why Krasner’s version of reform is incredibly detrimental to public safety. After that, McSwain explains why he’s hoping to hear comments from gubernatorial candidate Josh Shapiro on Krasner’s detrimental policies, noting that the silence is deafening. Finally, McSwain offers his opinions on the ballot questions appearing in the upcoming election, particularly the edicts related to the emergency powers of the Governor.
