Okay, so according to the latest Night Vale episode Director’s Notes (which you can get if you sign up to their Patreon, hint hint), Kathryn may have misspoken a little. The episode wasn’t “weird for weird’s sake”, but it still doesn’t have any deep, hidden meaning. It’s also appropriate that Elizabeth was so taken with the way Cecil announced the town’s visitors because it turns out that the language used was entirely the point.

And if you’re wondering, Cecil pronounces it “NephaLEEM”, and on Supernatural they say “NEPHalem”, and no we don’t know which one is right.

If the weird episode wasn’t enough weirdness for one week, after the recap we talk about WandaVision and Lore Olympus, answer a viewer question about where we want to go as soon as public spaces are an option again, and then discuss the theory that Mr. Potatohead with the gender removed is one step closer to being an angelic being and is also JUST A TOY.

Over in Night Vale, Cecil and Carlos are (probably) suffering from a little cabin fever, so this week they decided to take their young son Esteban to go hiking! It was a wonderful trip, they made so many good memories.

It’s just a shame that Cecil is having trouble actually, you know, remembering them.

But it’s not just the regular Welcome To Night Vale recap this week, oh no. We also have the Welcome To Night Vale Live Show (“The Investigators”), the weekly SitRep, Lore Olympus, and episodes 3 and 4 of WandaVision to talk about (spoilers ahoy). In typical, timely, “we are so on top of pop culture” fashion, we started watching Legion. A year and a half after the final episode aired. (We’d say that’s a record for us, but we’re sure you know it isn’t.) There’s so much about this show we love, from the beautiful and creepy special effects, to the completely unreliable narrator, to the dance number (the dance number!) and all the pretty, pretty people.

First though we’ve got to do the weekly SitRep over beers, and afterwards we wander from the perplexing editing of Æon Flux on CBS All Access, to Tamsyn Muir’s beautiful and messed up novella, to a last-minute ramble about Love, Death and Robots.

Since Kathryn finally finished the last season of The Good Place (only a year late! Gotta be a record!) we decided to break down everything we loved about it. Massive spoiler warnings of course! Plus we talk about the last two chapters of Lore Olympus, and also decide that since its final episode was a year and a half ago, it’s probably about time we watched Legion.

First, though, we tackle the subject we put off for two weeks: the riot at the capitol, and our thoughts on the last few weeks of the Trump administration. Fair warning, it turns into a rant pretty quickly, because what the frigging hell?!

Happy 250th episode! Way back in June of 2014 we were getting ready to listen to the latest episode of Night Vale and then talk about it over Skype, and we thought “hey, maybe we should record this?” Six and a half years later and the podcast has grown into a well organized machine that HAHAHAHA, sorry, kidding. The podcast is where we go to ramble about the best nerd stuff we can find, and we have fun recording every episode.

How did we want to celebrate? By cramming an episode full of things we love! Listen in as we go through a random collection of podcasts, books, comic books, TV and movies that make us happy, in absolutely no kind of order, trying to fit in as many as we can before the alarm on the timer startles the hell out of us.
