Binge Media

We make no apologies this week for our excessive “Gemma Neck Labia” talk.  It’s an issue.  While trying to figure out whether Kurt Sutter is fucking with us or not, Law and I talk about how creepy Abel Teller is, how dumb Gemma is, how smooth Nero is, and which SAMCRO member we can take in a fight (nobody wants any part of Giant Kurt Sutter).

Bobby needs to keep an eye on things.

Remember how Boardwalk is all like, “yo, Ima kill this guy and that guy and that guy” and it doesn’t mean dick?  MovieFreak and I discuss how this huge confrontation is lacking a lot of sense and reason.  While we did get one of the best songs ever written in this episode (see below), it all feels too little too late.  And with how this episode ends, we’re pretty disappointed in Nucky’s overall story arc.

There’s so much horror coverage in this week’s episode, Law and Ammon have to sleep with the lights on. And pants. Moreno is out on one of those “I’m gonna be too messed up to talk good” missions that we’ve grown to love so start taking bets as to when we bring up tacos this episode.

Most importantly in this week’s show, Ammon had a whole shitload of HALLOWEEN Blu-rays to give away. Seven of them to be exact, and a booklet, and some other random movies from his “everything has to go” shelf. Ammon studies all the entries of his Halloween Decorations Contest and selects his winner on the show.

The Google Voice Game has ridiculous translations for listener reviews of ST. VINCENT and DRACULA UNTOLD. Thanks, G!

TV Round-Up covers The Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy, The Amazing Race, and sparks some interest for The Affair.

What Did You Watch has Law delivering his thoughts on a couple great documentaries called THE DOG (the real life story of DOG DAY AFTERNOON) and THE DAY THE SERIES STOPPED (about the earthquake that took place just before game 3 of the 1989 World Series – in which Ammon experienced first hand!). From there it’s an all out horror orgy. Ammon checks in with the original CARRIE, SCREAM 2, I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER, CROPSEY, LEPRECHAUN, and a bunch of those HALLOWEEN movies. Together they break down the entire HALLOWEEN series as well as the entire SCREAM series before getting into Law’s 101 Damnations. At 64 movies in, he’s finally found something great. It was the last film he was expecting to love. Also featured are THE HOUSES OCTOBER BUILT, TREEHOUSE, and 20 other films.

Heads up for our Boardwalk and Sons commentaries this week. Be gone.

Holy shit was this episode a lot of fluff.  Law and I try to understand what the point of having a gigantic “set up” episode this late in the season is.  There’s a lot of talk about the Grim Bastards love of the color orange, the new “Juice on the Loose” Bob Seger song and we finally scale Mount Gemma’s Head.  Dig it!

With two major characters being off’d this episode, it’d be easy to say that this was the best episode of the season.  On the contrary, MovieFreak and I discuss how we didn’t feel either death was earned, and try to devise a scenario where it would work.  Will the final two episodes explode in a fury of violence as the ending suggests?  We don’t think so.

Tons of great stuff happening on the new BingeCast as Ammon, Law, and Moreno announce two new contests in which you could win a fancy Sons Of Anarchy beanie and some sweet new HALLOWEEN Blu-rays. From there it’s on to that bitch, Google Voice and the new and improved TV Round-Up featuring Homeland, American Horror Story: Freak Show, Sons, Boardwalk Empire and the last time we’ll ever talk about The Strain,

What did you watch this week is dominated by Law and Moreno’s love for 30 for 30’s latest doc, PLAYING FOR THE MOB. Ammon checks out the new Stephen King film, A GOOD MARRIAGE, and Law delivers his latest installment of 101 Damnations, featuring another 20-25 new horror movie reviews in 8 seconds. Or something like that.

Stay tuned for our commentaries later this week (Boardwalk & Sons) with the possible inclusion of a brand new one for your earholes (The Walking Dead…. maybe. No promises).

The end has finally come and we couldn’t be happier. An entire season of frustration is released in this, the final commentary for The Strain EVER. All the horrible acting, the worst laid out plans in the history of television, the fact that the rocker vampire still wears his wig, and that fucking kid, all of this is discuss with great ire. If you’ve stuck with us for this long you deserve a reward. I’m getting drunk right now to celebrate. Enjoy. Or don’t, whatever.

Goddamn you SOA.  And goddamn you sexy Chibs for getting the local authoritah involved with your Scottish penis.  This week we wonder why the fuck stupid Jarry the cop is even in this season.  To what, show that Chibs has a soft side?  Jax once again proves that even if you are straight up mad at him, he’ll turn you around within three words and you’ll be his bitch.  Law burps a lot in this one.

As promised, here’s our full reviews for GONE GIRL. Moreno, Ammon, and Law have a lively, spoiler filled conversation regarding the film, it’s comparison to the book, and nipples. That’s right, there’s a 5-10 minute argument about THAT set of breasts in this film that brings out the worst in everybody involved. Ammon breaks down what’s missing from the novel, Moreno starts his campaign to get Rosamund Pike an Oscar, and Law gushes about Tyler Perry. That was a weird way to end a sentence. See the movie, read the book, and sit down and relax as we break down everything to do with, possibly, our favorite film of the year.

You could’ve easily played the Benny Hill theme in the background throughout this entire episode and it would fit perfectly.  Another stellar week with stellar performances including young Nucky.  The actor got down Buscemi to a tee, from the mannerisms and facial tics to his speech pattern and fucking teeth.  Things are heating up as we only have three more episodes left.

Ay yo, how about that epic Al Capone shit?
