MovieFreak and Law are back with another deep analysis of The Strain. Why are there so many crosses? This is the one issue we get caught up on this week. Almost every scene features some sort of Jesus symbol in the background and it’s starting to bother us. Other things discussed include the amount of time spent on the Latino badass dude, the lack of the badass exterminator, possibly the show’s greatest moment when Eff pulls a 20 foot penis out of a corpse, and why The Wire is so awesome. While Jim Law drinks his face area off into oblivion (simultaneously enriching his childrens’ lives and enraging his chick), Moreno enlists Ammon and MovieFreak to drink heavily and talk some shit about all things entertainment. Not all things, just some things. Whatever.  Shut up.

We talk about things happening in the Binge Offices, the season premiere release date of Sons of Anarchy then the boys school Moreno on 24: Live Free Or Jack Bauer.  Ammon and Moreno discuss the merits of Orange is the New Black, Jack revisits the greatness of Monty Python, and Moreno updates everyone on Tyrant while completely forgetting about Ray Donovan’s season premiere, which was good.

Moreno puts both Ammon and MovieFreak to the Google Voice Test before an epic discussion of the epic tale of Noah.  Jack then reviews Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Mansome, and documentaries The Institute and Jodorowsky’s Dune.  Ammon loves Nebraska, and is lukewarm on Joe, while Moreno goes ballistic on how stupid Drive Hard is.

THE PURGE had all the makings of a good film. It was all right there for them to knock this out of the park. And then everything sucked cock. Law and Moreno sit down and watch this disaster with a few beers and try to figure out where it all went wrong. We deal with things such as what celebrity we would visit if the Purge was real. What if the Purge was just tickling – this changes our celebrity answers drastically. Where the hell does the daughter go for 95% of this film? And then we just scream “WHY!!!!!!!!” at the screen over and over until we’re both crying. It was fun.
