Binge Media

Jack and I are getting a little, but not overly concerned with how Boardwalk Empire will play out.   With 2 episodes down, 6 more to go, and 231 storylines to wrap up, it seems there are too many spinning plates to satisfy a full course meal.  Seriously, I don’t know what the fuck that even means, and I could easily delete it but I’m too far in now.  We’re happy to see Al Capone show up in this episode, as well as are new favorite character, Elliott Nessbylewski.  Also, despite IMDB’s slacking, Paul Calderon is indeed Nucky’s bodyguard, we confirm it by checking Twitter.  So there.

Lots to talk about this week as Law and Ammon sit down with a few dozen beverages and their microphones. TV Round Up covers everything Sons of Anarchy and The Strain while Law finishes off the Gary Busey experience on Celebrity Big Brother UK.

Then we play a game called The King of Hollywood in which we both answer what would be the first movie we set into production the day we were declared The King of Hollywood. Who would direct? Who would star? There are no limits, budgets, or anything that can hold us back.

This week’s Google Voice game involves a special caller delivering the inception version of voice translation, putting Ammon the the test. Meanwhile, Law sets a ridiculous task for himself in October.

What Did You Watch is filled with films new and old. Making appearances are THE KARATE KID II, BEVERLY HILLS COP II, HONEYMOON, RAGE, ZULU, KITE, I KNOW THAT VOICE, PIRAVATE PARTS, and EDGE OF TOMORROW.

Stay tuned this week for our commentaries of all the new episodes of Boardwalk Empire, Sons of Anarchy, and The Strain.

Sons of Anarchy is back ya’ll, and we waste no time whatsover basking in its over dramatic glory.  Once again, Binge Media brings class to this commentary by discussing the hotness of Wendy, the “gayasian” who had the unfortunate luck of being at Jax’s welcome home party, and how gangly Gemma’s clitoris is.

It’s good to be back!

After a little bit of a high last episode, Jack and Law have a hard time stomaching anything in this new offering of The Strain. The kid is becoming an issue, the hood-rat thinks he’s Tom Cruise, Nora is annoying-then sexy horny-then annoying, and Eph’s hair is beyond repair at this point. Put the dude out of his misery. Even Setrakian gets to read some brutal dialogue throughout the entire episode. “It’s good to name things.” Is it? Thanks, asshole. I’ve lasted about as long as I could. It’s all out war now.

Boardwalk Empire is back and we couldn’t be happier.  Jack pulls double duty with Sunday shows as he joins me for BingeMedia’s first commentary for the show.  We talk about how good it is to be back in the 1930s Atlantic City, what the fuck happened during the time jump, and why Lil Nucky isn’t as bug eyed as he should be.  Godfather comparisons and quotes are peppered through this, as well as  the occasional pee break and Tony Montana impressions.  Boardwalk Empire, welcome to a BingeCast TV Round commentary.

There’s tons of stuff to get through as Law, Ammon, and Moreno get back together for an epic reunion episode of the Binge Cast. Want new sounders – we got ’em. We’ve also got plenty to say about the final season of Sons of Anarchy (enter our Final Exam contest before it’s too late right here), and tons of other TV shows, such as Boardwalk Empire, Ray Donovan, The Strain, The Wire, and Tyrant. And finally. on this list of things we got – we got an idea for an Asylum movie that just might work. Now all we have to do is remember this conversation. Balls.

On the movie side of things we have reviews of FRANK, I KNOW THAT VOICE, LEPRECHAUN: ORIGINS, TO BE TAKEI, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, DIVERGENT, SPIDERS, RAMPART, LETHAL WEAPON, KINGS OF SUMMER, and TOY STORY OF TERROR.

Keep it here this week as we’re going to try and get commentaries out for The Strain, Boardwalk Empire, and Sons of Anarchy. Do dis!

The episode is good, and then it’s not. Then it gets good again, then it doesn’t. These are the issues we have almost every week of The Strain. Something just seems off to me here as the setup to this episode looks to be a no-brainer. Great idea for a one-off story but the dialogue, direction, production, and choreography of the whole thing is too cookie cutter to pass in today’s golden age of television. I’ve expected more from this show since the beginning. My expectations are being forced to be lowered. Meanwhile, Jack notes the price of every single thing in the variety store, calls bullshit on a quick tire change in the pit, and hates Samwise some more.

Holy crap. What has easily been the greatest JimLawlapalooza in the history of the universe itself has finally come to an end. Even though I’m probably stuck in traffic driving home as miserable as fuck there’s no way to ignore what was a perfect weekend. Drinks, tacos, a barcade, Pete MC, TM, Kupka, Moreno, Law, more drinks, deep dish pizza, High Life, and some more drinks. It couldn’t have played out any better than it did. This week’s show is a recap of what went down, with live sounders, some reviews for stuff I can’t remember, and Kupka passing out. We also call Moviefreak and DJ Allen One, play the Google Voice game and yell a lot. Join us.

Things are looking up for The Strain as FX delivers, what we believe to be, their best and most consistent episode to date. It’s still not without it’s flaws though as Jack and Law refuse to relate to Samwise Gamgee in an way, shape, or form. Some of the special effects here are suspect too. Is it really plausible that some chick would bitch slap a lethal mouth penis with such ease? All in all though, the story seems to be filtering out some of the cliche bullshit and getting down to some quality originality when it comes to the spreading of the virus. We’ll see what next week brings. Hint: rat dick.

Kupka and MovieFreak show up to help Law discuss the latest and greatest. Among the things reviewed are SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR, TAMMY, CRAZY LOVE, ALL THE PRESIDENT’S MEN, with revisits of SUPERBAD, ATTACK THE BLOCK, and AMERICAN REUNION. TV Round-Up gets deep into The Strain while Kupka begins his first watch of The Wire.

Google Voice is an idiot, there’s controversy in the Hottie Draft, Law toys with a new Sons of Anarchy contest for the site, and Moreno calls in from Balloonapalooza to tell us about tacos and stuff.

The Strain Commentary Tuesday. Be there.
