Hello Everybody! You know here at Bioscope Brasse HQ we've been threatening to evolve our show for awhile. Most of the time we don't follow through, but this time we actually went and evolved! Welcome to "Lammin' (chilling) with the Brasse" and who better to lam with than the awesome and absolutely hilarious Amy Dirks! We sit down with our new bra (who doesn't actually watch movies) and talk about all the things that matter. This includes but is not limited to: The mispronunciation of her real name and the origin of her Instagram name (8 "e's" were already taken). We chat about what inspires the material she puts out, how she's handling the fame that comes with releasing her social media content, the code-switching phenomena, as well as the challenges she faces with playing the characters she's created. We get some great advice on the power of affirmation (recognise your inner coolness!) and reminisce about the soapies our grandparents made us watch. We even manage to squeeze in career advice as Amy shares some behind the scenes secrets from the sets she's been on and tells us about her next steps. This is a movie podcast though so we find time to talk about Amy's favourite movie, Cars.The Cars world is weird, wacky and very "wooooow", so hop on in and buckle up while we take the scenic route to talk all about it!

This episode starts at a rip-roaring rate with the Brasse discussing which corporate entity is worse, Coca-Cola or Pepsi. We also manage to have a discussion around the constructiveness of beauty while sharing some awareness on the dangers of Guy Fawkes. Does the world need Boondock Saints 3?, the Brasse and their Irish accents try to figure that out. A discussion is had on whether the director of Rebel Moon self-fornicates and a powerful tangent is had on the Honey/Golden Syrup movie franchise. We try to figure out whether My Cocaine (Michael Caine) is going to win an Oscar for playing an atom bomb and confuse Frank Opperman with one of the Oppenheimers. Abi misses one of our best ever ideas and our Will Ferrell dreams get shattered. We then finally get to review D(j)une. The name's Brasse... Bioscope Brasse. Or should we say, Brasserers? That's right, we're here and we brought back-up. The crowd goes absolutely ape-shit as we welcome a special guest on this week's episode. We bring on the biggest Jame Bond fanspert (fan and expert), that's right we got Hadley! Not only that, but we even have a live audience! It wouldn't be a BBP episode without us talking about why Adult World has lots of toilet paper and as always we deliver. We analyse the Rust shooting incident and get pissed off at the tabloids and reactions to this incident and talk about how it could have been avoided. Hadley brings an intense focus on the real and important shit and we talk about the worst Chris (and second best Pratt) getting the Garfield gig. Don't worry we explain why he's still the worst. Some strong opinions are shared on Garfield casting which naturally segues into a discussion on Steve Harvey breaking promises. Keanu Reeves proves to be the best Reeves (and Keanu) and we do a quick check up on the health status of a couple of famous guys. We also have a quick chat about soapies. We get excited about Ana de Armas' latest project which may involve the Cape Philharmonic Ballerinas. A quick swear word audit is done before we start a deep dive discussion on all things Bond. Yo Yo Yo whatsup world! It's time for another Bioscope Brasse Spooktacureffic horror movie review special! We managed to go on a rambling wrestling and pronunciation tangent right from the get go. We provide an update on the IATSE protest (treat them fairly damnit!!!) and then somehow find time to do a lesson on South African clicks. Abi starts sighing before Ross even starts explaining how the Mormons "soak" and the Brasse give some advice on the best music playlist to listen to while working. We get 17 minutes in before realising it's our Halloween episode. We discuss the joys of having to put your camera on for Zoom calls. The Brasse share their plans to sell vetkoek this Friday (with cheese and mince). We get hella worried as we hear that Gladiator 2 is apparently a thing. It's a Mario animated movie is announced and we look at the casting announcement reaction, spoiler alert, the worst Chris is Mario. In other news.... We have an episode out today. And it's a good one! Today we bring you not One Guy, not Two Guy, but Free Guy! This episode starts at the beginning and ends at the end, with a healthy dose of top tier pod in between. The Brasse reveal their vaccination status today while bragging about being funny. We take a slow stroll down memory lane while thinking about the first IMAX Theatre at the Waterfront (anyone else remember The Serengeti movie?). Jody coughs at least twice as we remember that the only reason we're doing this show is to get free movie tickets. We try valiantly to fight for all the short kings out there even though they always lie about their height. We theorise on the next steps for the Expendables franchise, which could either involve Family or Trevett. Jody somehow forces a Stephen King reference in while talking about Scream and Abi produces the shit out of this show. Disney's fanhood of the show is established and shared and Ross get's in a humble brag. Ross also explains why the beach needs to be paved. We protect the integrity of Sister Act (High School Musical can come at us!). There's some Bond chatter (actor not money you need to buy a house) and then we get into our Free Guy review.
