This week, we FINALLY return to our Twilight series, covering the second two installments of the Twilight Saga, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn! We, of course, cover Jasper being a Confederate soldier, the birth scene, and how Edward was able to impregnate Bella (there’s venom in vampire semen. YIKES). Gaia has a lot of feelings about chickens and what it actually means to fall in love with someone and build a life with them. Most of this episode is spent with Gaia grappling over the actual meaning of love and how it is portrayed in the media, so hold on tight, spider monkeys. We eventually conclude that the cultural interaction with Twilight has become greater than Twilight itself, making it incredibly hard to review. We want justice for the misrepresentation of the sparkly vampire lore, Emily, Leah, and honestly everyone in this series. Everyone deserved better. Harris is surprised by the final battle because he was just so engrossed in the love story of it all, we all decide we are Team Bella Becoming a Vampire, Gaia decides to write some Twilight fan fiction, and so much more, this week on ‘Bitch, Why?’.

This week, we covered the first two installments of the Twilight Saga, Twilight and New Moon! We start the episode discussing misconceptions about how acting works and why Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were unfairly maligned for their performances in these movies. Gaia talks about the *cinematography* in the first Twilight movie and questions why American movies only signal foreign-ness with British accents. Neeta goes full fangirl in this episode, reveals maybe too much information about their middle school experience, and gets excited talking about literally everything. We discuss How Twilight is a symptom of the problem of toxic relationships in media and not necessarily the problem itself, how it didn’t deserve all the backlash it got (stop being mean to teenage girls!!), and that we should be more concerned with how the Quileute tribe was horribly misrepresented in Stephenie Meyer’s world.
