Hey guys
On this weeks episode we are extremely honoured to have Koraly Dimitradis on our show.
Koraly Dimitriadis is a Cypriot-Australian writer of poetry, prose, short-stories and non-fiction who explores feminism, racism, sexuality and culture, while challenging the traditional norms of poetry through literature, performance, film and theatre.
She is a freelance opinion writer for major media publications and has written for Daily Life, SBS, Rendezview, The Saturday Paper and many more. She is the author of the controversial poetry book 'Love and F**k Poems', which she initially self-published as a zine with English and Greek translation rights sold into Europe. Koraly’s poetry has been translated in Czech, Polish, Greek and Greek-Cypriot.
Koraly has performed her poetry nationally and internationally at theatres and festivals including the Melbourne Writers Festival, Emerging Writers Festival, Feminist Writers Festival, Human Rights Festival, Milosz Festival (Krakow UNESCO City of Literature), and Sardam Literary Festival (Cyprus). She has received numerous travel grants from the Cypriot Ministry of Education and has toured Europe and the USA.
Koraly has a diploma in professional writing and editing from RMIT, and a double degree in Business and Computing. She is an actor, performer, film and theatre maker.
We spoke about a wide range of things with Koraly including the taboo of sexuality within Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities within Australia and particularly in the Greek Cypriot community.
