Some really big news on the podcast this week, and we're not talking about football! Well, there's some football chatter later in the show, but this is someting completely different. BJ has finally - after years of prodding by his family and his old partner Bill Stevenes - finallly found himself someone who is going to help him write his life story down in a real, live, available-on-Amazon book. 

Of course it's just now in the planning and negotiation stages, but that's a big development, for sure! Can't wait to see and read the finished product. We'll keep you updated. 

And yes, there's some football talk on the shwo as well. Only the "big game" is left to play, in two weeks, between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. Should be fun, to see KC going for the "three-peat."

So much to talk about this week! As this podcast was being recorded, the US was getting a new / old / recycled President. So there's some talk on politics, even though both the boys are not strongly connected to any particular ideology. God bless us all...

It's also being recorded on MLK day... definitely something to celebrate. 

Along witih that, there's football talk, of course! And if that weren't enough, the college football championship - CFP - is being plaed on the night of recording. So much going on!

Football season is over! At least it is for BJ, who (along with Bill) had the unhappy experience of watching their beloved Tampa Bay Bucaneers lose in the NFL Wild Card Playoff games. Oh well, as BJ said, "time to wash the jerseys and put them away for another season." Yes, he really did NOT wash his Bucs jersey, to try to keep the "luck" of winning going. Not so much, apparently.

Other goodies from the show: The fun and excitement- and difficulty - of standing before a big, live audience. BJ and Bill have had their own fun-times with that, and there's a few good stories to be had. 

Also, there's talk about various streaming services for everything TV. Which ones are worth the money, and which ones are not? It's an important financial discussion, for sure!

Well, the regular season of the NFL came to a close the weekend just before this show was recorded, so the boys have plenty of football to talk about. Most interesting, the way BJ had to make sure his wife was helping out, doing the "ritual" of wearing the same team jersey, sitting in the same spot on the couch, etc... all to make sure our favorite Tampa Bay Bucs were winners. Yeah, it's a bit of magic, but if it works, all the better! 

More interesting BJ and Bill history. What "might" have happened if BJ and Bill had continued working at the same radio station in Fort Myers. Would they still be there? Hard to say, but there are some friends "in the biz" that have been in the same location for many, many years. Interesting! And makes for a few more good stories...

Happy New Year! This podcast drops exactly on New Year's Day, so let us be the first (or nearly first) to wish you - our listener friends - all the best for the coming 2025. Life has been "interesting" lately, and we're hoping the New Year brings a bit more sanity. All to be revealed,  of course.

Sure, there's some football talk. The boys fav team - the Tampa Bay Buccaneers -  had a good weekend, with all the puzzle pieces falling into place as needed for the Bucs to get to the playoffs. Of course, there's one more week of regular season action to go, so fingers remain crossed.

Also, BJ is going to one of his first - that he remembers - dinner parties! How do you get to be this age and not have an dinner party experiences? Well, you'll just have to tune in and find out for yourself. Always an interesting story!

This week - talk about the perfect example of a podcast featuing "two old men in Florida." The show starts with both BJ and Bill complaining about the "cold" wather where they live in the Sunshine State! Yes, totally lame...we get it. 

Still, there's some good ideas to share, too. How much storage space do you have in your house, apartment, or condo? Is it enough? We already know the answer to that question... NO! BJ talks about rotating through various boxes of holiday decorations (something his better half is a total professional with and about)... so there's plenty of holiday good cheer... if you can call it that.

You might think it's just a matter of cheering when things are going good, and cursing when they're not, but when you've had a heart transplant, things are a little more complicated than that. 

Also, some fun and interesting news about our favorite highway stop, Buc-ee's, and how they're getting a little competitin from south of the border. Can anyone compete with the Big Beaver? Not really, but someone might be giving it a go...

It was a good football week for the boys... Tampa Bay won, and the Browns played (and won!) a super-cool game in the big-time snow right there in Cleveland. Well, that was exciting for Bill, anyway. 

Along with the sports-talk, there was more about electric cars, and how they work for some people (BJ) and not so much for others (Bill, although he's open to change)... We had to find the answer to the important road-trip question Does our favorite rest stop, Buc-ee's - have EV charging? The good news is that most Buc-ee's do indeed have electric chargers! Good to know for those road trips through the south. 

With this show being recorded the week of Thanksgiving, there's plenty of "turkey-talk" and family stuff as well. Are you traveling for this holiday week? Take care and be safe out there, and we'll see you back here next week!
