Sandy England, director of Blazing Grace’s Wives Ministry, shares the compelling story of her journey to healing from a marriage that had been damaged by her husband’s sex addiction. When their marriage was on the verge of divorce, God came through and restored them.
“Peace on earth, good will to men” is heard often in December. The story of how Herod slaughtered baby boys in rage? Not so much. Jesus’ birth, complete with legions of warrior-angels was an invasion; an act of war.
This is the time of the year when we see an increase in people contacting us for help with porn addition and recovery from adultery. Marriages are under assault, and many are struggling with depression. This show provides tips on a look at how you can overcome.
A look at where we’ve been in 2020 and the missing pieces of the church’s response. We are a church at war. Are we acting like it? Are our churches weaponizing by becoming houses of prayer and are we equipping God’s people to be fighters and overcomers?
In the months leading up to the 2016 presidential election there was a flurry of activity in the Christian community where believers were encouraged to pray and repent. Immediately after the 2016 election, those cries to pray and repent suddenly dried up. We’ve seen the same in the 2020 presidential election… a buildup of requests for prayer and repentance, and “pray and repent” has disappeared. Why is this? The US is still in a state of moral collapse and the need is greater then ever for revival… Mike Genung issues the challenge to face our sin and jump headlong into taking the action steps that produce revival.
What would you say is a key to resolving the porn epidemic in the church? It is not groups, pastors, or counselors… but the wives. In this episode Mike Genung describes the wife’s healing journey, including how to deal with triggers, setting boundaries, the spiritual battle, trust and forgiveness, and more.
Have you ever heard a Sunday message that equips a wife on how to cope with her husband’s porn addiction? Wives are the forgotten ones when it comes to the porn epidemic in the church. The trauma that her husband’s betrayal and deceit inflicts on her heart is severe. Many women end up on anti-depressants or anti-anxiety medication. Some are so shaken up they need time in the psych ward to get stable.
Every week churches preach sermons and worship, yet for years our country has been falling apart. Why have we lost our salt? These are the contributing factors:
Mike Genung explores this and more, and provides Biblical answers – transformation to The Rogue Church.
In the follow up to last week’s show “The Status Quo Has Failed,” Mike Genung encourages listeners to “Go Rogue,” that is, to take their walk with God to a level higher than what is offered in some churches. Going Rogue begins with a passionate love relationship with the Lord. Our choices of how we spend our time on earth and living a life that counts for eternity is also looked at. This show is based on Mike’s new book The Rogue Christian. See www.theroguechristian.com for more information.
Mike Genung discusses how status-quo Christianity has failed to equip believers to be the spiritual warriors and overcomers they’re called to be by focusing only on the “positive and encouraging,” with the devastating consequences that our spiritual enemy has taken massive territory in our country. Mike’s new book The Rogue Christian covers these topics and more in depth. See www.theroguechristian.com.
Mike Genung dives into how porn affects those who are in bondage to it, The chemical, emotional and spiritual consequences are severe; to break free requires a character overhaul and taking consistent action steps. The “product of pornography” is also brought to light, including how it traumatizes and destroys those who create those movies.
