The scoreboard read 38-0 Bears. There was obviously much more to it considering Sean McDermott sat out an overwhelming majority of his starters coming off what appeared to be a productive joint practice with the Bears on Friday. Having said that, the lack of fundamentals and execution was disturbing, and while it's just the preseason, some legitimate areas of concern were again highlighted. The Giants topped the Bills 34-25 in the final preseason game at Highmark Stadium on Saturday afternoon. A season of great expectations will soon be underway. Buffalo wisely held Josh Allen out, but the vast majority of starters did see some action, and some players impressed further down the depth chart. The Rochester portion of training camp is officially closed for the Buffalo Bills. They're moving things back to team headquarters in Orchard Park with the preseason opener against the Giants on Saturday. Josh Allen won't play in the game but head coach Sean McDermott says the starters will for a quarter or so. Bills top running back James Cook has made it clear he wants a new contract. The Bills have made it clear they're not willing to pay him the number that he's looking for. Cook reported to training camp as expected, but opted to sit out at the very least Sunday based on what he described as "business." The Bills are now five days through training camp and the injuries are piling up. The list includes seven players that are high or relatively high on the depth chart. We all know the history. Cornerback Tre'Davious White was Sean McDermott's first draft pick as Bills head coach back in 2017. Despite tremendous talent, his first seven years in Buffalo were marred by ACL and Achilles injuries. White spent time with the Rams and Ravens after Buffalo made the decision to move on after 2023. This year he's back looking to be the answer at CB2 at least early while the Bills groom first round pick Max Hairston.
