❓ “Since you were still trying to figure out a lot about yourself, especially when you were a student, how did you market yourself to companies during interviews?”
💡 If you want to know how to “sell yourself” effectively in job interviews, don’t skip this episode in which our CQO Zip Nguyen shares her own experiences and provides specific real-life examples of good vs. bad interviews. She is also joined by some of her past and present team members, whom she has hired at both BBC Studios and Bloom in Crisis. Watch to learn more about the diverse backgrounds of Alex, Zachary, and Jenny, and how they have taken different paths to achieve success in job finding.
❤️ Special thanks to Alex Reyes for sharing her experience and Morgan Ritchey for asking a great question that many of us can relate to. We want to also extend our gratitude to Professor Kate Kennon for hosting the session, and all the students in her Business Communication class at Fordham University for their engagement.

Bloom in Crisis is the embodiment of hope — it is a belief, a practice, a state of being that empowers you to skillfully regulate emotions, build spiritual resilience, enhance self-awareness, unleash the potential of your mind, foster a grateful heart, cultivate joy, nurture positive energy, promote inner peace, grow self-compassion and compassion for others, embrace the present moment, derive wisdom from introspection, transform pain into grace, recognize positive possibilities even in adversity, and actively shape your narrative, ultimately leading to a happy and fulfilled life (with a touch of style!)
Welp... you're probably not going to remember all of these, and neither am I (!) which is why internalizing the concept of "bloom in crisis" instead of trying to memorize what it means is important. Luckily, we can all do it by practicing consistently.
While I'm incredibly grateful for my journey, I know firsthand how painful and lonely it is to go through tough times alone — it urges me to give back and help others as much as I can in my lifetime. Bloom in Crisis has been transforming me and many others for the better, and I would love for you to give it a try!
Believing that everyone is a bloomer and we #bloomincrisis together, I founded Bloom in Crisis to share with you how I practice it and what I've learned throughout my journey, which, I hope, will be helpful for you in yours.

❓ "At what point in your academic or post-academic career did you figure out the specific field you wanted to pursue or the job you wanted to have?"

This June marks the one-year anniversary since my dear partner-in-crime at work, Zachary Adelmann, joined my team 🎉 Soo... I wanted to make him blush a little by shining a spotlight on this rare, wonderful young man 😎
From starting fresh in the media industry just a year ago to now sharing his insights and lessons learned with others, Zachary's sincerity and eagerness to grow make me feel lucky to be his manager. Instead of being a barrier, our differences are what make it work so well between us, and I truly can’t express enough how much I appreciate having Zachary on my team!
Here’s a bit of candid sharing combined with some fun facts about us that I hope will help alleviate some of the stress if you’re trying to find the right job or career path for yourself. Have a watch, and good luck!
🍀 Special thanks to Zachary Adelmann for sharing your experience and Isabella Espinosa for asking your question. Thank you Professor Kate Kennon for hosting the session and all the students in Business Communication class at Fordham University for your engagement ❤️

Among the many stories I’ve shared, this is probably the one that comes up most often, not only among international students but also among American students at Fordham University. I’ve been told repeatedly how recalling this story empowers them in their journey to build security in foreign countries and apply for jobs.
I decided to take a break from YouTube for a while because I missed writing and making time for quiet contemplation. But on this Father’s Day, I want to do something different... 🙆🏻♀️
My dad doesn’t speak English and he’s not even on social media, but I feel compelled to share his wisdom with the world, knowing his teachings have positively impacted my journey and deeply shaped who I am today ✨ While I don’t talk about it often, it’s been a long journey for me to grow into not only admitting but also appreciating my dad’s influence on me.
Here is one of his pieces of advice that has changed my perspective entirely, liberating my mentality like no other throughout my journey in the US.
Happy Father’s Day! 🫶

"Your quarterlife crisis is your greatest asset."
This is what I said to a student when I was asked about my mantra after we wrapped up the meeting. If you have been following my blog since I started it, you'll know that I still haven't changed my mantra until now. Not because I'm fixated on it, but rather, it's because the older I get, the more I find it true and become even more grateful for everything I've been through.
I debated with myself many times whether I should share this video or not for lots of reasons—one of them is because we recorded it back in August 2023 when I still thought Bloom in Crisis was a brand or a podcast (I later realized that it's not, but oh well, I didn't know what I didn't know! 🤪) It might seem trivial to many, but it was a huge shift for me once I internalized the essence of bloom in crisis myself.
Regardless, I still decided to publish it because I do believe this conversation about embracing pain and suffering is important to share, and I want to embrace my authentic journey, too 🙃
I hope that my sharing is helpful for you to reflect on your own journey in helping both yourself and others to build resilience and find success. Good luck! 🍀
Special thanks to Professor Kate Shea Kennon, Ed.D and Professor Linda Luca for organizing the event, and all the student attendees from Fordham Gabelli School of Business for engaging in the session 💖

One of the facts about me that often surprises others is my journey to the US. I might somehow give off the vibe that I always know what I'm doing, but unlike what most people assume, I really struggled with school and had no clue what I wanted when I was in Vietnam 🥲 The decision to come to the US and study abroad was one of those that I made in the blink of an eye without knowing what would come next, not even thinking about whether I would like it or want to stay here long term 😬
Adversity is something I've been used to since my early years, but learning to embrace it and constantly turning it into opportunity is probably one of the most enjoyable mental exercises and surprisingly fulfilling experiences in my journey ✨
I hope that my sharing is helpful for you to reflect on the potential of creating opportunities from your own challenges. Good luck! 🍀

For a long time, I used to think that one of the reasons I've been single for so long was because I might be too masculine for guys—too independent, too assertive, too stubborn, too direct, too ambitious. You know, being feminine in my mind was associated with being submissive, skilled in the kitchen, or dressing up super girly... and while I think they’re great qualities too, I just don't necessarily see myself that way.
Needless to say, I always feel surprised yet intrigued when my girlfriends tell me, "You're one of the most feminine women that I've known," or like how this conversation I had with Tyler Rohoblt in DC started because she told me that she wanted to learn more about how to cultivate the "divine femininity" which she saw in me, when this was only the second time that we had met! 😬 While it's still hard for me to believe, at least now I know that's not the reason haha (if you've watched my recent episode on being single on Valentine's Day, you'll know why) but growing to embrace my femininity in my own way is probably one of the most empowering and beautiful gifts I've allowed myself to have 💝
Do I think cultivating feminine energy is beneficial for guys as well? Absolutely. Feminine energy encompasses traits such as nurturing, intuition, empathy, creativity, and collaboration. Unlike the traditional belief, these qualities are not exclusive to any gender. Even if you're a man, you can also benefit from embracing feminine energy. Balancing both the feminine and masculine energies within ourselves allows us to foster emotional intelligence, compassion, and inner wisdom, ultimately contributing to our overall growth and fulfillment.
Special thanks to Tyler for joining me in this episode and also helping me articulate what I do to cultivate my feminine energy through our conversations—something I wasn't even consciously aware of myself until we spoke about it 🙈 (fun fact: we recorded this video months ago but it still holds true for me)
What are your ways to cultivate and unlock the power of the feminine energies within you? Comment below and let us know! 🌼🌸🌺

Many people find it surprising when I say I don’t often go to temples or read spiritual books, even though deep down, I know that I’m very spiritual and have been practicing mindfulness intuitively for a long time. While I’ve heard of the Blue Cliff Monastery for the last eight years and had always wanted to visit, it hadn’t been at the forefront of my mind until last weekend when I finally made the trip... and despite the rain, I’m so glad I did! I’ll never forget the song ‘Understanding and Compassion’ (Hiểu và Thương) that we sang together as a community, the mindful eating with the tastiest vegetarian food, sharing my learnings with Dharma Choice (Thầy Pháp Tuyển), and learning from him as we walked around the monastery. This conversation, like most of those that I’ve shared on this channel, came together in the spur of the moment ☺️
Watch the full Part 2 of our conversation to learn about the practice of non-self that can help you both tame your ego while also overcoming self-doubt ✨

Listen to the full Part 1 of our conversation to learn about the practice that can help you transform suffering and find hope under any circumstances 🕊️🌿 You might also discover why I came here and see a very special person who made a surprising appearance on my show this time 🙆🏻♀️

Hiểu và Thương (Understanding and Compassion) song lyrics
[English translation]
Brothers and sisters from all over the world
Siblings from across the continents
No distinction in skin color or religion
Let's come together to build and spread love
Understanding and compassion
Understanding and compassion
With understanding comes compassion
The deeper the understanding, the wider the compassion
The wider the understanding, the deeper the compassion
Deep understanding, profound compassion
Understanding and compassion
Understanding and compassion
[Vietnamese lyrics]
Anh em ta từ bốn phương trời
Chị em ta từ khắp năm châu
Không phân biệt màu da tôn giáo
Cùng về đây xây đắp yêu thương
Hiểu và thương Hiểu và thương
Có hiểu mới có thương
Hiểu càng sâu thương càng rộng
Hiểu càng rộng thương càng sâu
Hiểu sâu, thương lớn
Hiểu và thương
Hiểu và thương
