  • Ep 91: Reciprocal Community

Do you want to spend your time in communities where you have to work really, really hard to connect and get reciprocal energy back?

Or do you want to put yourself in the presence of people that bring out your best and give you as much energy as you put into them?

Of course, it's all up to you how much time you spend with each community, which ones you want to limit and which ones you want more of. But my invitation for you today is just to think about it which communities bring out your best self and how can you put yourself in those communities more.

Because when we take away the work and the energy that we have to spend building ourselves up and making us feel okay and instead just put ourselves in environments where we automatically feel motivated and inspired and belonging, we are much more likely to have energy left to put into our ideas and making our ideas real in the world.

What you'll learn in this episode:

    • How different communities affect your well-being and creativity
    • Taking actionable steps to manage the abundance of ideas
    • Introduction to the regenerative idea model
    • The importance of real connections and genuine community support in making your ideas happen
    • Insights from the book "Essentialism" on focusing on prioritization, commitment and dedication

    Mentioned in this episode:

    • Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg McKeown

  • Ep 89: Integrity

When we are hiding something, or out of integrity with who we really are, we have discomfort, either physical or in other ways.

But because of how we've all been socialized, we've learned to hide a lot of ourselves and for each of us.

In this episode, we're uncovering how to find what you truly want under the surface of all the things you're supposed to want. Because when we do the work of getting back in integrity, life becomes very sweet and it becomes easy to see the things that are not in integrity, that are red flags.

Embrace the opportunity to look for anything that you're hiding. Where are you not being true to yourself?  There's many steps after that, but that's where we start.

What you'll learn in this episode:

    • How living in integrity is crucial for well-being
    • Psychological and physical tolls of not living authentically

  • Ep 87: Always Have an Idea

When we really focus our energy on the idea of something that we're trying to create in the world, we struggle less, we keep growing instead of receding in any way. That's what today's episode is all about.

Our ideas lead us toward becoming more of who we want to be and experiencing more of what we want to experience. It's not about the destination. It's about the process. It's about who you become as you try.

  • Ep 85: Intention vs Action

When you have an idea and you want to make into a real thing, the difference between intention and action is everything.

Intentions are glimmers of possibility; they are in our mind until we take an action to make them real. And they will stay intentions always, no matter how much we want to believe in them until we translate them into action.

In today's episode, I'll share some tips on how to go about setting priorities and avoiding making assumptions about others' intentions whether in our relationships or communities.

Once we learn how to separate out intention from action, we become a part of the world's healing.

What you'll learn in this episode:

    • Why intentions alone are not enough to bring ideas to fruition
    • Setting priorities and taking steps to move from intention to action
    • Strategies for fostering a more understanding and less judgmental approach

  • Ep 84: Neuroplasticity

Recently, I met with a therapist and we went to grab a coffee. The therapist said that a lot of times people will come to him and he didn't think he is the right fit for them, because in therapy, it's usually about healing trauma and looking backward.

But sometimes, what somebody needs is to create a positive vision for the future and manage the mind to set up a plan the next time you notice the triggers.

Mind management or self-directed neuroplasticity helps you stop the stress cycle and teach you ways to release stress. Yes, stress is supposed to be released and this is possible when we use tools to manage our mind.

And in this episode, I will give you data, tools, and steps on how you can make it a habit to manage your mind and achieve permanent change.

Learning about self-directed neuroplasticity is the best gift that I have given to myself and now, I'm here to share it all with you.

What you'll learn in this episode:

    • The synergy between coaching and therapy
    • Self-directed neuroplasticity and its benefits in managing our minds
    • Practical tools and techniques for mental management
    • An overview of Caroline Leaf's research on mind management

  • Ep 83: Ikigai

What's the thing that will keep you swimming out into deep blue water, even when it's a little bit scary? Finding what the Japanese call your “Ikigai.”

I’m recording this episode straight from the big island of Maui as my family and I continue our memorable time together. We're about halfway through, and I'm excited to share a couple fun stories.

These stories link up to some research that I've been doing lately on having a wonderful life, on generating happiness and flow, and what it means to find your Ikigai. In other words, your purpose in life— the thing that lights you up and also adds value to the world.

We also talk about facing your fears and slowly gaining confidence on your own terms, and making sure that everything lines up with your values and not anyone else's.

Because… the only human being who can turn your ideas real is YOU!

What you'll learn in this episode:

    • Ikigai and its significance in achieving a happy and long life
    • Facing fears and taking safe risks on your own terms
    • Learning to manage the stress response through mind management
    • Creating boundaries to eliminate things that get in the way of a sense of purpose

  • Ep 82: Intuition vs Self Doubt

One of the things that I deal with a lot is when people are trying to make a decision about whether or not to do something, and especially when those things would require a lot of change in our lives.

Life will pull us, people will pull us, requests for our attention and time will pull us in so many directions if we don't decide "what is the most important thing that I'm doing with my life, with my time, with my energy, with my resources?" Because when we follow those yeses and we listen to those no's, it can really be a helpful internal compass.

In this episode, I'm going to help you get into the nitty gritty of whether you're just listening to self-doubt too much, or whether you really have an intuition that you should do something.

This is how you can change the world in a positive way - through what you love doing and who you love being. That's what we're all about here on the Bloom Your Mind podcast.

What you'll learn in this episode:

    • Methods to distinguish between genuine intuition and fear or self-doubt
    • How to balance and compare the reasons for and against a major decision
    • Setting ground rules and aligned expectations for successful and cooperative decision-making
    • Techniques to clear mental chatter and logically address concerns

    Mentioned in this episode:

    • Ep 66: Ground Rules and Expectations
    • Ep 63: Making Decisions
