I recently learned about some important new small business regulations that could seriously impact you. The Corporate Transparency Act, enacted in 2021, requires most companies to report who their beneficial owners are to the government. Failing to comply with these new beneficial ownership reporting rules by the deadline could lead to substantial fines or even jail time. Yikes!
