Welcome to our first bonus episode! I just wanted to express my gratitude for your support of this podcast with a little extra, bite-size podcast goodness that's quick to listen to and helpful for loving your life. I hope you enjoy!!
In a previous episode, we chatted about professionalizing motherhood. But what about when your co-workers only come up to your knee and ask for snacks all day? Or when suddenly, they’re off at school all day and don’t need you in the same ways they used to? Or when they're all out of the nest? As moms, we need community. We need each other!
Let’s talk about a practical fix for this: A mom’s group! And before you write this off, say its not for you, or think you don’t have time, stick with me. When I became a mom, there was so much value in doing life with other moms. I needed to learn from them. I needed to know if what my kid was doing was normal. I needed to know if my feelings were okay. More than anything, I needed to know I wasn’t alone! Looking back over the past thirty(ish) years of mothering five children, I can truly say I am who I am because of the women who have been in my life. I know the same can be true for you.
Now, over many years of motherhood, one of the most commonly asked questions I get is, “How do I start a moms group?” Glad you asked! On this bonus episode, I have three tips for starting your own mom’s group. Come listen while you’re doing dishes or folding laundry, and I’ll tell you what they are!
We’re stronger, wiser, and even healthier when we have a mom community around us. Let’s get started!
