In 1994, Robert Wright wrote what The New York Times Book Review labeled one of the best books of that year called The Moral Animal: Why We Are The Way We Are. In this book, Wright attempts to answer questions about our biology that research is shedding more light on; questions like, "What is the best reproductive strategy for humans?" "Where does self-esteem come from?" and "Why do parents have a favorite child?" Answering these questions, and more, offer tremendous insights as to why humans are the way we are and what we can do to live the best versions of our lives.

Robert Waldinger, MD, and Marc Schulz, PhD are the current director and associate director of the 85-year-old Harvard Study of Adult Development. This study, as well as a plethora of additional research, is discussed in the book they co-authored called The Good Life: Lessons From The World's Longest Scientific Study of Happiness that describes how we can live a happier, healthier, and more meaningful life.
