  • 49 | How Jennifer Shook’s Story Became Her Coaching Strength | The Power of Sharing

This week, I sat down with Coach Jennifer Shook, a Christian Life Coach. Jennifer’s life was turned upside down when her husband, who had been sober for 18 years, relapsed into addiction. This crisis led her through a journey of profound pain and self-discovery, where she encountered God’s presence in new and powerful ways. Through surrendering control and letting go of her fears, Jennifer found unprecedented freedom and hope, even in her darkest moments. Support from friends and quiet times with God, journaling and reading the Bible, were instrumental in her healing.

Now, Coach Jennifer is passionate about helping women find the same freedom in Jesus, regardless of their circumstances. She believes that everyone can experience life abundantly, feel deeply loved, accepted, and forgiven by God. Through her life coaching, Jennifer empowers women to embrace their unique stories and partner with Jesus to discover their purpose and freedom.

In this episode, Coach Jennifer shares:

    • her journey of supporting her husband's recovery and the changes it brought to their lives and faith
  • how she was able to heal rather than trying to fix her loved one
  • The need and balance for self-care and well-being while supporting loved ones through recovery
  • how God led her to start coaching and the impact of her testimony to coach others

  • 48 | Understanding and Overcoming Self-Sabotage with Tabitha Azor REWIND

Have you ever found yourself getting in your own way of achieving a goal or a job promotion, or shrinking back to old habits when everything seemed to be going well?

This feeling of self-sabotage, as it's called, is surprisingly common.

Self-sabotage is any behavior or thought pattern that undermines our own success and well-being. It can manifest in many ways, such as procrastination, self-doubt, negative self-talk, and self-destructive behaviors. Self-sabotage can be conscious or unconscious but always leads to negative consequences. It can stem from a variety of reasons, such as fear of failure, fear of success, low self-esteem, and past traumas.

It can also be a way of protecting ourselves from disappointment or rejection. However, self-sabotage ultimately prevents us from reaching our full potential and living a fulfilling life. The first step in overcoming self-sabotage is to recognize it. Pay attention to your thoughts and behaviors and identify any patterns that may be holding you back. Once you have identified your self-sabotaging behaviors, you can challenge them.

Tabitha Azor is a Brooklyn-based licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She is a Christ-following Haitian-American and mother of 2. Her heart for the hurting has allowed her to pursue a degree in Marriage and Family therapy. Her passions are to help women feel empowered and confident, increase their self-love, believe they deserve healthy relationships, and help couples transform their marriages to live healthier lives and build stronger families.

Tabitha started NYC Healing Center to create healing spaces for people to transform their lives. In her spare time, Tabitha loves to create, dance, sew, and do arts and crafts.

In this rewind episode Tabitha shares:

    • The definition of self-sabotage and its characteristics
  • Potential roots in which self-sabotage stems from and how to create better self-awareness when it’s happening
  • How to overcome self-sabotaging behaviors in order to reach success
  •  The importance and benefits of working with a therapist
