Get into the Christie-mas spirit as the Bookalicious girlies get into a Christmas Muuuuurder Mystery by Agatha Christie - Hercule Poirot Christmas!

We start off with a very detailed author recap on Dame Agatha Christie uncovering some of Agatha’s mysteries and her slightly circular family tree. The sisters get into the minds of the killer by plotting and scheming their own murder strategy of Old Simeon Lee. Candice gets skeeved by everyone sexualizing the very young Pilar & Chrissy convinces Candice that David is NOT a closeted 1920’s gay.

Candice and Chrissy rehash Fox's Tongue and, by the end of it, know about 65% of what just happened. BUT we are here to deliver all of our wisdom from the book so you may know more about what's going on!!

And, in the beginning, we discuss our own Gypsy Rose experience and whether cottage cheese is only for old people. Thanks for joining our club!

Join us as we recap part one of Fox's Tongue and Kirin's Bone by Allison M. Kovaks! If you haven't heard of this book, we highly recommend it. And we especially recommend listening to our recap as you read to help sift through the many moving parts of this tale.

In the author summary, Candice doesn't talk at all about Allison Kovaks and instead explains all the German and Japanese folktale lore behind the book, so now the book makes a lot more sense to Chrissy. We use the magic of Mariah Carey to figure out what's happening in this book and make predictions for next time.

In this VERY special episode the Bookalicious sisters have their first ever podcast GUEST(s) from The Kindred Kindles Podcast with Krystin & Taylor.

The girls discuss all things Freida McFadden (SPOILERS FOR BOOK 1 + 2 OF THE HOUSEMAID), true crime, and pop-culture references only Candice (and I'm certain all the listeners) know.

In the final part of The Housemaid's Secret, Freida McFadden jumps out of her spaceship and into another one as she lands this story in a way we never could have guessed. We've got LOTS of thoughts on the final murder that went down, the Spirit of Killie, and how super-ninja Marybeth learned all her skills on the car ride over. We have many questions for Freida and even draft an email *live* that we sent to our new favorite author.

We hope you loved this book as much as we did! Join us next week as we start Fox's Tongue and Kirin's Bone! (**edit- we're actually starting The Princess and the Goblin!)

Another Housemaid, another rocket ship! Candice and Chrissy discuss how this mystery is unfolding, including:

- How does Millie get bamboozled so easily?

- Why is BrockBot such a bad lawyer?

- Why is Wendy a better assassin than Millie?

- Will Enzo join forces with Millie, Bonnie and Clyde style, or is he actually playing double agent?

- And, most importantly- Is this series really just Amelia Bedelia for adults?

And before all that, a shout-out to Guy56 (53? 47? All the Guys!) who requested we do Somewhere Beyond the Sea by TJ Klune! Candi is currently on a 6-month waitlist for this book so, if you'd like to join us in reading it, maybe put your name on the waitlist too.

In a hilarious twist, Candi and Chrissy jump off Frieda's spaceship and onto their own rocket as they go off the rails on their theories about Killie Millie. Who are the five bullets for? Does master-mind Wendy try to hypnotize Millie with a gun? Is Brockolli actually a robot who will short-circuit in the rain?? And, "Where did they go wrong?", a new game that lasts the entire episode where we point out all of the flaws in Millie's plan. We hope you laugh as much as we did!

Plus, we realize we have gone full American and have made the olympics, a centuries old international tradition, only about the United States. We have our first round of Bookolympics International to rectify this (thanks fsmith!).

After much anticipation, the Bookalicious girlies take on Freida McFadden's sequel to The Housemaid - The Housemaid's Secret. The sisters postulate if Millie is going back to school not for her CV but her KV (killer vitae) as she disposes of bad husbands in the Hudson River, if Millie's boyfriend Brock is an undercover FBI agent or a Robot, wonder if Wendy Bird Garrick is actually The Curious Case of CeCe Grace, and MORE!

Candice and Chrissy wrap up God of the Woods and figure out they were completely right on all of their predictions!!!! Just kidding- Candi had a few good guesses, but Chrissy was holding onto her Bear-Alive theory too tightly to have guessed anything else. We manage to still squeeze in the Math Academy theory for good measure, though, should there be a sequel to GOTW.

We discuss how all the mysteries wrap up in this final section, as well as the symmetry of the story that makes the (initially underwhelming) ending, really good.

After our recap, we rate the book, share our emojis, and play Read it like Reddit.

Thanks for joining our club! Be sure to join us next week when we begin The Housemaid's Secret by our queen, Freida McFadden!
