Reimena Yee is an illustrator, writer, and designer. Hailing from the dusty metropolis of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, she is now based in Melbourne, Australia. She once was a STEM student, but left to pursue her passion for the world and all its histories and cultures, which she weaves into her art and stories. She is the cofounder of UNNAMED, a comics collective that builds community and resources for visual-literary creators in Southeast Asia. She is the author-illustrator of the gothic comics The World in Deeper Inspection and the Eisner- and McDuffie-nominated The Carpet Merchant of Konstantiniyya. Séance Tea Party was her debut middle-grade graphic novel. @reimenayee

April Lavalle is an actor, comedian, writer, and Tony Award–winning producer living in New York City. As an actor, Lavalle has appeared on television and on stages throughout the world, and as a writer, she has been featured in publications such as Reductress, McSweeneys, Medium, and Vulture. She is also a director for the Story Pirates, which celebrates the imaginations of children worldwide.

Alex Boniello is an actor, musician, singer, writer, and Tony Award–winning producer from New York City. Most recently, he starred as Connor Murphy in Broadway's Dear Evan Hansen, and has also appeared as the voice of Moritz in Deaf West’s revival of Spring Awakening and in numerous TV shows and films. Alongside April Lavalle, he's also a producer on Hadestown, for which they both received Tony Awards. Boniello is a passionate advocate for mental health, having worked closely with some of the most prolific organizations in the country.

Johnnie Christmas is the number one New York Times best-selling and award-winning graphic novelist, who’s perhaps best known for co-creating Margaret Atwood series Angel Catbird and for adapting William Gibson’s lost screenplay for Alien 3 into a critically acclaimed graphic novel of the same name.

Jamar J. Perry received his PhD in Literacy Education, Language, Culture, and Social Inquiry from the University of Maryland, College Park. Before that, he taught middle school language arts for four years, where the majority of the students were Black boys. Like Cameron, his protagonist, Jamar hopes that one day all Black boys can understand how magical and joyful they really are, no matter how different they may feel.
