After having  19 point lead and blowing that game against the Bulls last game, the Celtics found themselves in a similar position today up by 19 after 3 once again. Instead of imploding, the Celtics continued to battle it out. While the 4th quarter was still pretty ugly on both ends, it is always nice to see the Celtics walk away with a double digit victory. Jaylen Brown continued to shine and Tatum continued to whine (not really but it rhymed).

This is one of those games where you are kind of left speechless. For 3 quarters, we moved the ball well, hit shots and defended pretty well. We were fighting over screens and making the right plays. The fourth quarter rolls around and everything we did well, went to the wayside and it was just tough to watch. Celtics fall to 2-5 and have a tough stretch of basketball ahead of us.

Well, we had another bad shooting game for Brown, Smart and Tatum that led to an embarrassing loss to the Wizards. The Celtics really only had 3 players that came to play today and those were Schroder, Al and Timelord. Schroder continues to look like the steal of the offseason and while I was having my concerns about Al and Timelord playing together on the same line, they looked phenomenal together tonight. The lack of converting offense and just pure lack of hustle ultimately did the Celtics in. We got outworked, out hustled and out muscled tonight every step of the way. We have two days off before our rematch with the Wizards on Saturday so we shall see if Ime makes the necessary adjustments in this character building game because you do not want to go into a game against the undefeated Bulls on Monday with a 2-4 record.

We finally got to see a game where both JB and Tatum go off!! Tatum had 41/7/8 and JB had 30/9/3 and both had very efficient shooting nights. These are the games that we haven't seen very often but is definitely a welcome sign. Every single starter played a massive role in this win whether it was Dennis Schroder's 23/6/8, Timelord's 12/16/4 with 3 blocks or the several key defensive plays from Marcus Smart including 2 steals late in regulation that got the Celtics back into the game. This was a fun team win against a young, athletic and skilled Hornets team. I would be remised to end this without saying that Jabari Parker and Grant Williams also played excellent tonight. Parker was a little jolt of offense when the Celtics were struggling to put together some offense. Big W to get back to .500 and now we have back to back games against Washington. Time to make some jumps in the standings.
