Boy, was this a fun game to watch. First off, I need to give a shout out to Evan Fournier. He is getting into form and has looked like his typical Magic self the last 2 games. He looked phenomenal off pick and rolls today tossing a couple huge alley oops to Timelord but also was just super efficient in the rest of his game. He ended with 17pts on 5-9 shooting including 4-5 from deep and added in a team high 6 assists. Adding a 4th legitimate scoring option makes the Celtics rotations so much easier because you can always keep 2 scorers on the court at any given time. We saw solid performances up and down the roster tonight including some excellent defensive minutes from Romeo Langford! Yes I said it, Romeo is back!!! While his minutes are limited and he wasn't super involved offensively, he was still able to play some fantastic defense. The Celtics have been anything but consistent this year but the offense and defense the last two games have been night and day compared to the rest of the year. Whether or not they can keep this up consistently is unknown, but if they can, this team can be dangerous. We've got two tough games coming up against the 76ers on Tuesday and Knicks on Wednesday so these are two pivotal games. Let's see what we can drum up here!

Evan Fournier explodes for 20 points in the 4th quarter alone on a 23 point night and shows Boston what he is all about. This is the player that Boston traded for and hopefully can get on a night in night out basis. We saw standout performances from Timelord (20pts 9reb 8ast), Tatum (26pts 9reb) and JB (22pts 11reb 2ast) and we also had huge assist numbers from Kemba (8ast) and Smart (10 ast). Overall, the ball was moving so fluidly tonight and this is exactly what we needed to see. The Celtics assisted on 35 of their 46 made baskets tonight. 

Yes, the Rockets are a horrible team and No, you can't take tonight's win as a "We're moving in the right direction" type win but this was for sure a much needed and fun win to watch. This is the blueprint of how the Celtics need to play consistently if they stand any at making a run in this years playoffs. This team as it stands, has not shown us enough to prove that a long playoff run is a possibility but hopefully we can try to build some momentum here. The Celtics will look to start a winning streak on Sunday against Gordon Hayward and the Charlotte Hornets.

Wellllll Fournier struggled hard in his Celtics debut scoring a whopping zero points on 0-10 shooting. With it being his first game back in a week and on a brand new team, I'm not too worried about that. He will get his first practice with the Celtics tomorrow so hopefully starts to build some camaraderie with the team. Tatum lit up the 1st and 4th quarters with 16 points in the first and 14 points in the fourth. We had solid contributions from Kemba, Pritchard and Kornet tonight but it wasn't enough to pull out the win. This loss is largely due to the fact that the Celtics couldn't stop the Pelicans from beyond the arch. The Pelicans shot 16-31 from 3 and stopped every run the Celtics made at a comeback.

The Green Kornet earns himself the Player of the Game nod in my opinion tonight. The Celtics struggled hard to get things going the entire first half shooting an abysmal 3-20 from deep. It wasn't until Kornet made his Celtics debut in the third quarter and made a couple big energy plays that the Celtics took their first lead and never looked back. His very first shot as a Celtic was a made 3 to take the lead coming from an impressive behind the back pass by Tatum. What did he do the very next trip down? He hits another three to move the lead to 6. Overall, we got really solid contributions from both of the Jays and Pritchard really held the Celtics together in the first half leading the team with 12 points in the first half. 

This is a much needed win to get back to .500 and now the Celtics head back to Boston for a 7 game home stretch along with the return of Romeo Langford on Monday. This is a pivotal stretch in the season for us as only 2 games separate seeds 4-9 at the moment I am writing this so we can make up some serious ground on this home stretch and put ourselves back in a top 4 seeding.
