On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Nich Fairbanks(@Prudentia0) for another edition of Fairbanks Friday as the two broke down the Panthers 5-2 road win against the Los Angeles Kings. The Kings controlled play, but the Panthers capitalized on their limited chances in the period and were fortunate to go into the second tied at 2, due to the team giving up a good amount of breakaway opportunities. The Panthers cleaned it up defensively and were able to take the lead after a clean breakout with LA having multiple players down low in the Panthers end, birthday boy Sam Reinhart scored what would end up being the game-winning goal to give the Panthers the lead in the second. The Kings did make a push in the third, but an offensive zone penalty quickly changed that, and although Florida didn't score on their PP, Sergei Bobrovsky came up big to prevent them from tying the game, and they were able to put the game away with a big short-handed goal by Anton Lundell after forcing a turnover at the blue line. Brad Marchand popped two goals as he is currently on a three game goal streak. The Cats ability to win races to the puck and get in on their forecheck allowed them to make life difficult on Anton Forsberg as they got two goals off rebounds, where they only had three going into Thursday's game. The guys discuss their three stars of the game, when they knew the game was won, and discuss their thoughts on the Canadian and Finland Olympic jerseys, Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2025, and preview Saturday night's game in San Jose.
