Bout that Life (AAU Life and basketball talk) Podcast

Coach C. Collins is back at it to help give his experience of coaching methods and tactics that can hopefully help you to grow in the game of basketball along with talking any other issues or video reactions that he wants to discuss.

Todays topic Coach Collins takes a deep dive look at the culture of violence that seems to becoming the norm for athletes. With recent current events of JA Morant, Mikey Williams, etc...what is the cause of young athletes feeling the need to prove that ghetto street life or gang culture needs to be acclimated in there everyday life. Can the influence of social media, woman that find violence as attractive or seeking validation all play parts in the destructive path these athletes are taking in todays culture?

Coach C. Collins is ready to talk more AAU basketball, life and everything in between. In this episode, the coach had a chance to sit down with Rahid "Shine" and Andrej Stojakovic(Son of former NBA player Peja Stojakovic). In this episode we got to really breakdown the journey to become a high level basketball player but also the relationship between player and trainer.  With guys like Phil Handy and Lebron James showcasing the importance of a lead trainer and player relationship, the trust that is needed for this to work is key for the athlete to reach there full potential.

Andrej has had a breakout career the past two seasons at Jesuit High School becoming a McDonalds All-American, leading Jesuit as a captain and scoring also playing for the famous Compton Magic AAU program on the adidas 3ssb circuit.  Shine has been with him every step of the way and with Andrej committing to Stanford university along with Jesuit Alumni Isa Silva, both trained by Shine, this creates a culture and legacy the show wants to talk more about.

Topics on the show include comments on the crazy brawl between UC Davis and UC Santa Barbara, NBA players fighting more and being chippy this year and the strangle hold CIF has on the decisions for high school athletes.  We also talk in depth about the stigma of being a "Legacy" athlete meaning having a parent who is a formal professional at your sport and the good and bad that can come with it.  Coach C.Collins really gets to the heart of what makes these 2 have such a strong bong and pulls no punches.

Also on the show is guest host Coach "OJ" who has been a guest on the show and the director of courtside basketball. He gives his input and insight on the different aspects of aau basketball and how its evolving.

Coach C. Collins is back at it to help give his experience of coaching methods and tactics that can hopefully help you to grow in the game of basketball along with talking any other issues or video reactions that he wants to discuss.

Todays topic there seems to be a recurring issue in the landscape of high school sports, especially basketball, with adults are going back to high schools tore- live athletic dreams. One case that recently has come up is Arlisha Boykins a 22 year old coach that decided to impersonate a player in order to play a JV girls basketball game. I want to understand what has created the win at all cost mentality?

Also teams that play in these AAU tournaments with high level Division one kids and holdbacks but will play them at lower levels just to secure a trophy or medal has to be discussed. The term is general called "sand Bagging" or " Snow Balling" but the motivation behind this message is selfish for sure.

Todays topic do governing bodies like, CIF San Joaquin section, in California and other states have to much power over the future of high school athletes? In this episode Coach Collins will talk of the story and former YBA player Kiku Parker and his battle to play his senior year of basketball at Grant high school.

C.I.F(California Interscholastic Federation) has been in power for a very long time and govern most if not all high schools in the state. There is story after story of the legendary corruption the members and former members of CIF, so it begs the question who is holding them accountable? In this episode coach will take a look.
