Coach C. Collins is back at it to help give his experience of coaching methods and tactics that can hopefully help you to grow in the game of basketball along with tips for your AAU brand.  Todays topic I wanted to give my take on what exactly is a position-less basketball player is.

We in the basketball community know what this term means for the modern game of today but I will give my take on exactly what type of basketball players fall in this category and the traits that make this player valuable. The game is ever evolving so understanding the role of the position-less player can help trainers and coaches to get the most out of your players.

Coach C. Collins is back at it to help give his experience of coaching methods and tactics that can hopefully help you to grow in the game of basketball along with tips for your AAU brand.  Todays topic I want to tell coaches, families and players what my experience was at the UA Rise tournament in Indiana.  Most AAU basketball teams want to eventually make it to one of the shoe circuits that play some of the best high school talent in the nation and I want to give a step by step experience on what will happen if you make it.

My team went 4-1 and made some huge noise that weekend impressing a lot of college coaches but the experience and networking is well worth it. As always if you feel so inclined drop a like or comment and enjoy the episode.

Coach C. Collins is back at it to help give his experience of coaching methods and tactics that can hopefully help you to grow in the game of basketball along with tips for your AAU brand.  Todays topic imagine watching your AAU basketball club grow and you being a central figure of the success you will deal with a level of hate within and out of that AAU ecosystem. I myself deal with many people throwing shade or having negative things to say about my coaching, players, aau club, my style, etc...but in the episode I will best describe the best ways, in my opinion, to deal with all the fuckery and not let it stop your growth or success.  As always if you feel so inclined drop a like or comment and enjoy the episode.

Coach C. Collins is ready to talk more AAU basketball, life and everything in between. In this episode,   Coach Collins got to sit down with an old high school buddy Nick Lozito.  Nick is a sports editor for the San Francisco chronicle news paper and is a Oakland native born and raised. Coach Collins and Nick go way back and in the show you can hear from someone who has worked in the sports game for a long time. Nick has a passion for sports that began in High School as he was there to see the rise of Oakland Tech as a basketball power house during the Leon Powe & Demarshae Johnson era(199-2003).  Nick also worked at the Oakland Tribune in the same field and he has done several pieces on the sports world that give him great insight to the professional experience.

-------------------------------

Some topics of interest in this episode were the assessments of how the era of basketball has changed also Nick reached out to Coach Collins for insight about how AAU basketball works and the pros and cons. Nick also discusses a recent article he had done on the decline of black participation in baseball and the reasons why. Often through out the show the comparison of aau programs in traditionally white sports as opposed to aau basketball, which is predominately black, is brought up as well. Of course we talk NBA news and the way covid-19 has affected the layout of the NBA season.  With everything being uncertain it seems athletes and organizations either adapt or fail.

Coach C. Collins is ready to talk more AAU basketball, life and everything in between. In this episode, the coach has the opportunity to sit down with Marcus Kirkland for Strive Above Others training and coach of the EG royals AAU club.  He is back for a part 2 and he has come with a list of things to talk about in the crazy AAU world. Marcus has made some big moves since his first episode such as, going viral from Tik Tok, creating vlog content on his YouTube channel, becoming a coach, growing his training brand and being a staple in the basketball community.  He is always a welcome guest on the show that Coach Collins will sit down and have some great conversation with that you don't want to miss.

The list of topics are actually things Marcus wanted to address so coach Collins gets to kind of sit back and have a fun discussion about the state of AAU today. A big focus of the show is on the kids that were great in 7th and 8th grade but have since not made any significant impact now being in high school, the "Middle School Hype" as it is known.

The impact of different tryouts and seasons in the AAU basketball community and how this affects trainers income is discussed along with how as a basketball culture trainers and programs can actually work together rather than the fake love that is shown consistently.  The coaches discuss times people have acted as if they were to high on the totem poll to interact with us or the brands we represent and  of course various NBA topics are covered as always.  The episode was a lot of fun and laughs with people getting to see the thoughts and fears we as professionals can have at times.

Coach C. Collins and Coach MJ are ready to talk more AAU basketball, life and everything in between. In this episode, the coaches have the opportunity to sit down with founder, coach and director of " Team Arsenal" KP Potts.  KP has been director of his AAU program since 2014 and has had multiple contracts with Adidas and Under Armor for his AAU brand. In this episode we learn about the man behind the name such as his basketball career, his outlook on the process of AAU basketball and the growth of his club in the home base of Fairfield California.  It was great to sit down and really peel the layers of what all that goes into being a successful program in addition KP trains at his own gym.

Questions about if the relationship of AAU coaches and high school coaches is discussed and we have a fun time sharing crazy stories of basketball events and journeys. In the NBA the Warriors and Suns match up is analyzed, who will be the king of the west? The coaches also bring up the empty threats made by Haslem toward the Jokic family along with the theater drama many of the NBA players start to display on a regular.  Street ball becoming a very cool wave in the basketball community is looked at and with KP speaking his truth there are definitely no punches pulled for the great discussions.
