Richard shares the symptoms that led to him seeing a neurologist, the mental health effects he has experienced, and how he is navigating life and career living with Parkinson’s. Next Dr. Correa speaks with Dr. Joseph Friedman, a neurologist and professor of neurology at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Dr. Friedman explains the various non-movement related symptoms that a person with Parkinson’s disease may experience, the condition’s connection to mental health, as well as the importance of physical activity for someone living with Parkinson’s.

Also joining the discussion is Salin Geevarghese, son and care partner for his mother who lives with corticobasal degeneration (CBD). Next Dr. Correa sits down with Dr. Scott Yaruss, professor of communicative sciences and disorders at Michigan State University and president of Stuttering Therapy Resources. Dr. Yaruss explains what stuttering is and how symptoms may vary if the condition is child or adult onset. Dr. Yaruss also shares tools to help people manage stuttering; however, he emphasizes the importance of teaching society to understand that all speech is valuable.
