There are two types of marketing. Brand marketing focuses on getting you to think and feel a certain way about the brand. (Apple: Think Different). Direct Response marketing focuses on the immediate sale of a product.

For young companies brand marketing seems like a waste of time and money. I certainly felt that way when my businesses were new. But I don’t believe that any more.
