For this episode of Brewstilled, it’s the first episode a segment called Bad Keg in where we examine events in sports that went wrong. A bad keg event involves sporting event combined with alcohol that ended in disaster. For this first episode, I’ll be discussing the story of 10 Cent Beer Night, a baseball promotion that went badly in the city of Cleveland. The promo was held on June 4th in a game between the Cleveland Indians and the Texas Rangers. The promo involved beer priced at 10 cents with no limits. It was supposed to be a promo to increase fan attendance and to lift the spirits of the Cleveland fanbase, but the promo ended in disaster as it resulted in a full-scale drunken riot when fans charged onto the field resulting in a full-scale brawl. I’ll be discussing 10 Cent Beer Night and its lasting legacy in baseball lore in the first edition of Bad Keg. It’s all here on Brewstilled.

In this episode of Brewstilled, were going beyond the taproom to discuss the topics that affect everyday people. The topic for this episode is the dangers of nihilism. My guest for this topic is Charles Webb who is a published author, and professor whose work has appeared in publications such as Psychology Today. In the past few years in since Covids arrival life has been upended with our everyday routines altered with some gone altogether. Such events have created a negativity that also created a rise in nihilism. Yet, nihilism is also a pandemic of its own that brings no benefits. I speak with Charles about the hazard’s nihilism presents on one’s own wellbeing and also one's own mental health. It’s all here on Brewstilled.

For this episode of Brewstilled, I’ll be talking about possible destinations for Bill Belichick for the 2025 NFL season. The 2024 NFL season will be the first season without Bill Belichick in decades, but he’ll likely be back for the 2025 season with a whole new team. The key question is, where will Bill Belichick be for the 2025 NFL season? I’ll be talking about that topic of intrigue here on Brewstilled as no doubt the speculation will only continue until Bill Belichick finds a new team in 2025. I made a list of 6 teams with one of them being a dark horse who may call on Bill Belichick’s services for the 2025 NFL season and I’ll discuss each one. Yet is hiring Bill Belichick a good move? I’ll be discussing that as well. A West Coast IPA from Pure Project is on tap for the beer pairing.
