Brian interviewa three Ukrainian lawyers. His guests are Taras Tertychnyi, Oksana Miroutenko, and Alesia Nahirna. Taras lives and works in Kiev and is staying with his elderly parents, Oksana and Alesia are in Toronto but in constant contact with family members. We discuss how real people are dealing with the war. Taras is ok so far on a southern suburb of Kiev but his friends to the north have been attacked. Alesia’s family is half in an occupied eastern town and half making their way across the country to the west. Oksana’s family is already in the west and debating what to do. This is a highly personal and frank conversation about Putin, Ukraine and what they all want us in the West to do.

Brian interviews Rob Huebert. Rob is an associate professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Calgary. He is also a senior research fellow with the Centre for Military and Strategic Studies. We discussed Canadian preparedness for war, (jets, helicopters, frigates, tanks and armed personnel, and the lack of all), the clash of civilizations, what we could possibly do and did WW3 already start in 2014 with Crimea. His area of research interests include: international relations, strategic studies, the Law of the Sea, maritime affairs, Canadian foreign and defence policy, and circumpolar relations.

Brian interviews Andrew Chester. Andrew is the President of Juno Risk Solutions. He spent twenty years in Canadian Naval military intelligence and is now a cyber security expert, resilience and military preparedness expert. Previously he was Executive Secretary Joint Operational Resilience Management January 2012 – October 2015. It is now clear that we are either to be engaged in a prolonged period of demonstrated collective resolve with our allies in Europe — or something much worse, he says.

Brian interviews Steve Lafleur. Steve is is a Senior Policy Analyst at the Fraser Institute. We talked about a recent column he wrote “To solve Toronto’s housing crisis, we must end restrictive single-family zoning policies”. We discuss zoning, city regulations and how they are causing the housing crisis not helping. Steve holds an M.A. in Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier University and a B.A. from Laurentian University where he studied Political Science and Economics. He was previously a Senior Policy Analyst with the Frontier Centre for Public Policy in Winnipeg, and is a Contributing Editor to New Geography.
