Dr. Mike P. Moffatt is the Senior Director of the Prosperity Institute, a regular commentator or housing affordability and productivity/prosperity issues and an Assistant Professor in the Business, Economics, and Public Policy area group at Ivey Business School, Western University.

Mike has conducted policy research on the nexus between regional economic development, innovation, housing, and climate policy in previous positions at the Mowat Centre, Lawrence Centre, Canada 2020, and for the federal government where he was Canada’s first ever Chief Innovation Fellow. Mike talked about the housing affordability crisis in the Greater Toronto and in urban centres across Canada.

Brian interviews Dr. Martin Jugenburg. Dr. Jugenburg is a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon with offices in Toronto, Dubai, Kuwait and Miami. Dr. Jugenburg has been in practice for almost 20 years and has established himself as a leader in the field of cosmetic surgery. He offers a full range of plastic surgery procedures. The majority of Dr. Jugenburg's practice is primarily made up of female patients who want to feel more comfortable with their bodies after changes caused by pregnancies, weight loss and/or the natural aging process. Dr. Jugenburg has also worked on countless athletes and was the Canadian ringside surgeon for the UFC. Dr. Jugenburg talks about Plastic Surgery and staying young.

Brian interviews Bob McCown. Bob is the American-Canadian radio personality. He is best known as the long-time host of the Canadian sports talk show Prime Time Sports from its inception in 1989 until 2019 and now with his own podcast. He talks about the Leafs, what went wrong and what radical change is called for, the next round, the business of sports and arenas and the power of Big Ideas and what he thinks makes a great Mayor.

Brian interviews Alex Beheshti. Alex is a senior consultant at Altus Group specializing in housing development. We discuss the housing affordability crisis in the Greater Toronto Area and the lengthy approval timelines that contribute to it. We also explore the role of zoning in shaping urban neighborhoods and the need for a more streamlined and user-friendly planning system. Lastly, we criticize the reliance of politicians on external bodies to make decisions and call for politicians to be held accountable for their decisions.

Brian interviews Axel Breuer and Pieter Kool. Axel and Pieter, who have both been residents of Mississauga for over 45 years, are working with the Mississauga Residents’ Association Network (MIRANET) and their own Ratepayer Group and have really torn into understand the City budget. Their numbers are right, the city numbers take the Mississauga tax increase and divide it by the taxes for both Mississauga and the Region of Peel and thereby under represent the tax increase by almost three fold. Tax increases of 6 % + will double your taxes in ten years. This is in unsustainable and unaffordable.
