  • 067- Wedding Equality With Olympian Blake Skjellerup

Choosing wedding vendors, the people and businesses that you pay to help shape the wedding of your imagination into reality, is tricky business. Do you like them? Are they within your budget? Do they have strong opinions on your sexual orientation and who you are marrying? Wait a second…what? Is that their business? What the hell happened to equality? Can you imagine meeting a wedding vendor and them refusing to serve you because of who you are marrying? Today’s special Save The Date Wedding Podcast guest is Olympian, Blake Skjellerup. As well as representing his country (New Zealand) at the winter Olympics, Blake is an ambassador for the gay games AND he’s getting hitched! WOOT! As one of the very few professional males athletes to come out whilst competing, Blake has become a reluctant (but impressively confident) spokesperson for the gay community… Now, with his impending nuptials to his partner Saul Carrasco (Carrasco is a fashion stylist and blogger for Trend Styled), Blake has written a number of pieces for Huff Post about planning their wedding and outing vendors who actively discriminate against LGBT clients. • 066- Wedding Q&A- Post Wedding Blues

No matter how exciting your everyday life I can guarantee you that you will all suffer, in your own special way, a bout of post-wedding blues. It's perfectly natural to feel a little Debbie Downer or empty after a big life event such as a wedding. Think about all the time and energy that you and your partner have committed to making this great day happen. You've devoted hundreds of man-hours to planning, spent months saving money and when it's all said and done it can feel a little bit weird. For lots of people, it's not just the organizing part that you will probably miss, it’s the attention and excitement in the lead up to the wedding that you can sort of getting used to, that when it's gone can feel like a bit of a void. In this episode, I offer some solutions to get you out of the rut and back organizing and having fun! Be on your way to wedding Planning Zen with the Bridechilla Guides! • 065- New Wedding Etiquette - bending 'the rules' to suit you!

You may think that etiquette is something only the Dowager Countess from Downton Abbey has to deal with but you know what?...it's a really big part of being a member of society. My guest today is Cheryl Seidel who is an etiquette expert, the voice behind the 'Ask Cheryl blog' and she's also the founder and President of RegistryFinder.com, an intuitive search engine that helps gift givers quickly and easily find online registries for weddings, baby showers, graduations and more. Cheryl is also a contributor to The Huffington Post and an etiquette expert. In this episode of the wedding podcast we debunk some common etiquette myths, look at new traditions and ditch some old ones! It's lots of fun and I'm not afraid to say that Cheryl surprised me with a few doozies that I had no idea existed! Etiquette refers to conventional forms and usages: the rules of etiquette. Decorum suggests dignity and a sense of what is becoming or appropriate for a person of good breeding: a fine sense of decorum. Be on your way to wedding Planning Zen with the Bridechilla Guides! • 063- Confidence. What is it & where do you get it?

'Wow look at her, she's confident'...please take note of the magic word 'looks'. Today on the Wedding Podcast, I wanted to focus on a topic that I think plagues all of us (no matter how extroverted we may seem) at one time or another, how to boost confidence and feel good about yourself. You may be reading this, thinking, 'Aleisha, that is easier said than done' and yes, I agree, often a lack of confidence goes back to childhood, how you were raised if your parents were confident people and how they projected that on you! The purpose of today's show was to give you a glimpse, with the help of Nova, from NuBride.com (who is a trained Life Coach) of how we can begin to make small changes to habits and routines, to reprogram (or at least temporarily mute) that little voice that rattles around in your head that says 'I can't' and 'Don't do that' and 'You look shit' and give you some starter exercises to shift your thinking. • 062- Wedding Q&A #moneyweek - Wedding Budgets for everyone

Wedding Q&A #moneyweek. It's all about the moolah on today's wedding Q&A episode, continuing the theme of #moneyweek on the show. One of the most popular themes of my Q&A requests is money. How to talk about money? How to save money? How much money to spend? As listener Kay points out the term budget has many different meanings… A millionaire's budget is very different to someone who earns $30,000 per year. When it comes to talking about wedding planning budgets I always try and keep it in perspective and of course this is a place primarily of no judgement so even if you are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on your wedding I know that you will find some value in the advice that I keep on this podcast. • 061- Manage your Moolah - Girls Just Wanna Have Funds

I don’t want to be a total Debbie Downer here but financial issues are often cited as the top reason for divorce and separation. I know most of you haven’t even gotten married yet but I think it’s vital for you to start your partnership off on the right financial foot, which is something that my guest today will help you do! Ginger Dean is a self-taught personal fiancé guru who I’ve been following for years, she is the founder of http://www.girlsjustwannahavefunds.com/(possibly the sassiest domain name on the whole of the internet) which is an online community dedicated to helping a woman manage their funds. With a degree in forensic psychology she’s been described as a ‘shrink and a debt shrinker’, I invited her on the show today to help you think about money and budgets and spending in a different way. • 060- Wedding Q&A- Staying organised & Amazing Wedding Hair

As well as answering your wedding planning questions, my guest on today's show is Emily from the Wedding Hair Company! The Wedding Hair Company is a hand-picked collection of the UK’s top hair and makeup artists from the fashion industry and she reveals lots of tips and some very sensible (and fun) advice about wedding hair. Also on the show, I explain how easy it is to set up your own personalized wedding email account to keep track of all of your wedding quotes, subscriptions (have you subscribed to my newsletter yet?) and contacts, all in one place. This is a great idea to separate your wedding life from your real-life and to collate all the important info that you need to keep track of to reduce stress and mental-ness. • 059- Aleisha Visits the Etsy Wedding Fair (& learns about Wedding Invitations)

It's wedding invitation time! So, you’re organizing this shindig and hopefully not come to blows over who is attending (listen to this podcast episode if you are struggling) and now you’ve got to tell people about it. I popped along to the Etsy Wedding Fair to meet some very talented stationery designers, artists, illustrators, and letterpress legends to bring you advice on how to choose the most fabulous wedding invitations, budget and timelines! The main goal of the invitation is to convey information. Who, where, when? You don’t need 18 separate cards and sections. The wedding invitation is the first opportunity (unless you’ve sent a Save the Date) that you have to convey to your guests the tone and style of your upcoming event. If you are having a classic formal wedding, express that to your guests with an appropriately colored and worded invitation. If it’s a rockabilly wedding, get that theme going early, have fun with it, use color, etc. As you’ll learn in today’s podcast there are many different printing and design processes that you can select for your wedding stationery. • 058- Wedding Q&A- Seating plans & fabulous Wedding shoes

Today on the Wedding Q&A, it’s all about table seating plans, podcast love and finding that fabulous pair of wedding shoes that won't require you to seek medical attention! I've had a very busy couple of weeks recording interviews; videos and meeting wonderful people at some major international wedding events that have been held in London recently. The Esty Wedding Fair, The White room and London Bridal Fashion Week, were all held over the same weekend and I had a fun time cramming them all in and meeting some wonderful wedding vendors that I will bring to this show very soon. I was very excited to take a film crew along with me on the journey so I will be sharing some of those videos with you very soon! Be on your way to wedding Planning Zen with the Bridechilla Guides!
