It's been a while! And, that's for a reason.
After stepping back from the podcast for a few months, I promised myself I would come back when I truly felt the call. After my recent astrology training on Saturn, I knew it was time to talk again.
I talk a little bit about the intense whirlwind that the earlier half of 2021 has been at the beginning of this episode, just to remind you that we all face things that can feel insurmountable.
Then, we dive into all things Saturn (one of the most important aspects of your astrological chart).
We cover:

The world is changing because women and society's relationship with the feminine are changing. We're finally stepping into who we are—the sensitivity, intuitive nature and softness of the feminine is now coming back into balance.
If you've ever been called "too sensitive", soft or girly, this is your time.
In this episode, I share my story understanding my sensitivity and even talk about the moment I knew something was different about the way I walked through the world when I was 8 years old. With practical tips and anecdotes to help you feel less alone, this episode is for anyone who's ever struggled to understand why they feel anxious, different or like an outsider—and how to thrive instead.
The books I mentioned are Light is the New Black and Rise Sister Rise—both invaluable in helping feel your best and step into who you really are. You can also shop my ebook, Out of Your Head, Into Your Heart for more support around concepts that we discuss on Bright Side of the Moon.

I've discussed so many coping mechanisms for anxiety on Bright Side of the Moon before, but I've never addressed this issue head-on. This episode is long overdue and I'm proud that I'm at a place where I can share these things today.
As a child, I had crippling anxiety, and this issue hasn't exactly gone away entirely. People didn't know how to handle it in the 1990s and many still don't today. An issue I've struggled with my whole life, I've started to see the anxiety in a different light.
If you struggle with anxiety, I hope this story reminds you that you aren't alone, there is a way to feel better and there is nothing wrong with you if you worry more than you think you should. I also talk about the change in attitudes towards mental health issues—including the cultural impact of Britney Spears' struggle.
Just because you have anxiety doesn't mean you're unworthy, stupid or a bad person. Sometimes, it's just a part of you that needs your attention, your soothing and your unconditional love.
You are not alone if you worry about things big or small. I hope this helps you feel less alone and know that no matter what, the sun will rise again.
The reiki practitioner I mention who has helped me tremendously with this issue is Kristine Joy. You can book a session with her on her website.

Did you know that your energetic field expands up to ten feet during your period?
You're more sensitive during this time for a reason—you're much more closely connected to the greater picture. We have a lowered capacity to numb out and pretend like we don't have feelings because it is our most feminine time of the month.
There are so many gifts that our period gives us. We've been conditioned to think that our cycles are a drag, that we should push through them and pretend they don't exist. In reality, they are a direct link to the rhythm of the Earth and the mothering energy all around us. It's all inside of you.
Your period is a portal.
In this episode, we talk about the sanctity of your moon cycle and why it's 100 percent okay to rest. More importantly, your body needs rest so that you can spend some time with your highest, most intuitive self during this time.
Learn all about accepting your emotions and being more gentle with yourself always, but particularly during your cycle. Plus, you'll hear all about why tampons may not be the best option when it comes to care.

There is power in each of our stories, and this is the first time I've told the entirety of mine.
During my hiatus from Bright Side of the Moon, I realized that I had alluded to a lot of what happened in my life, but never fully explained why I see the world the way that I do. A lot of that reluctance had to do with fear of judgment and simply not being ready. Plus, I found that many people hear "eating disorder" and only focus on that aspect of things. In reality, my story encompasses so much more than just that chapter and symptom.
So, here it is!
I knew that this story would serve a purpose one day, and I'm incredibly grateful to feel strong enough to finally share. I hope that it serves you and helps you remember the bigger plan in your own life.
Trigger Warning: This episode discusses disordered eating and sexual assault.

Following my podcast hiatus, I make a pretty big announcement on this final episode of Bright Side of the Moon.
After losing my grandma this year, things shifted quickly and the experience has helped me create more authentically—in a feminine way. Like many episodes of this show, it's deeply inspired by a book; this time, it's Things are Going Great in My Absence. Around the time that this book appeared in my life, my grandmother passed away. Learning two lessons at once, this period of time showed me what I was missing—room to breathe and unconditional love of myself.
Plus, I found out what "unconditional love" really means.
In this episode, you'll hear about:
I put my heart and soul into this one—I hope you feel it. Check out my new podcast, Nervous System Simple, which will launch in January of 2021, covering all things feeling good from the inside out.
For more on the nervous system, check out the Heal Your Nervous System course. We start next week!
Thank you for coming on this ride with me.
