One of the things that has become abundantly clear to me as I've started to heal myself is that we are all connected. Every single thing is made up of energy and what we do with our energy impacts the world, whether we like it or not.
In college, I shopped constantly. Trying desperately to fill a void and make myself feel better, I bought new clothes weekly. I didn't realize that I was purchasing the energy of more suffering, adding to my own experience in the darkness. I watched the documentary Minimalism last year and about halfway through, I broke down in sobs.
This is the story of how I discovered conscious clothing and what it means to understand the way that we're all connected. The fast fashion industry is an affront to all of us, perpetuating the suffering of our fellow humans and the planet. Filled with chemicals, pesticides and toxins, cheap clothing not only hurts the people who make it, but hurts us when we purchase it with our energy.
The new way of the world is compassion. I believe that when we heal ourselves, we can heal the world around us. When we start to change the way we buy things, we can change the system responsible for human suffering, pollution and waste.
