  • Boiling rivers, strange deserts, neverending storms, and other occurences in mysterious places
Aaand on air! I don’t know if this happens to anyone, but whenever I watch a documentary, I like how I lose myself in it.
For me, it depends. If it is quite mechanical, I’ll be sleeping like 10 min after I start watching.
Well, honestly bud, It’s difficult to remember a time when you watched something properly till the end.
t's not my fault to be selective. I just can’t keep watching EVERYTHING like you. I have a taste, you know.
Well, now I question what kind of a taste would make you fall asleep even in thrillers?!
It’s just… meh.. I can’t really find an excuse. You’re right. What hooks you in most of the documentaries anyway?
It is like you’re watching a movie but at the same time you know that it is not a plot, quite the opposite, it is something that truly exists or happened.. or might have happened.
Ahh, that’s exactly what a realistic person like you would say.. So guys, I’m so happy to tell you we're trying a different concept today. Take it as an audio documentary. We’re diving into some places with question marks on earth. We’ll be talking about them briefly..
Normally, before each episode, we split the topics but this time we’ll be giving you mini trailers for each place we’ll mention.
We’ve got a lot to do! Let’s start.
Our first place is from Minnesota, there is this “The Devil’s Kettle Waterfall” which seems to be like any other one in the world.
I wonder who named this place. What’s so different about this waterfall?
When you take a closer look, you’ll see that it actually has 2 different bodies. One side is falling into another body of water.
Which is quite understandable. How about the other one?
This is the tricky part. The other one falls straight into a huge natural hole in the ground. Nobody knows where exactly it leads to. From putting a bunch of ping-pong balls to dye into the waterfall. They tried to understand it in different ways.
There was no trace of these at all?
Nope. Eventually it has to go somewhere, Idk maybe into the ground. Anyways, what do you have to tell?
    I’ll start with “Stonehenge”
Oh come on! You’re literally taking the easy way out.
What?! Stonehenge is a mystery, too!
I thought you’d find lesser known spots. [trying to tease him up]
Who says I didn’t? So, these giant stones have been in this spot for thousands of years. They are said to be constructed in 6 stages between the years 3000 and 1520 BCE. Phew, it is so amazing how they built up these.
It’s so crazy how people lifted those heavy stones without any technology back then.
They could weigh up to 37 tons. Today we still don’t know how and what exactly they were built for.
It reminds me of Moais of Easter Island we talked about before.
Me too! Anyway, since you know about “Stonehenge” already, I can tell you about the Hessdalen Lights as an extra. Does it ring a bell?
    Hmm. Give me more clues.
    Dancing lights in the sky?
    Like northern lights?
    Kind of.. but different...

  • Amazing body facts and features that you probably didn't know you have
Uhmm, okay, Could you.. please just sit and lean back? I kinda feel distracted here.
Ahh, Sorry. My back still hurts! Ihh! [trying to stretch]
Well, you should’ve paid more attention to your body. Still no sports in your life, huh?
I’ve gotta accept; all I do is talk and talk but no action yet.
Which is very typical of you..
Sitting in front of the computer for hours and here we are; my muscles and bones are crying in pain. Ahh, I had better take up something asap.
But not basketball please. Remember how bad you were at it?
Ha-ha... Let’s not get into that again.
Okay.. okay. Then let’s get into today’s topic. Uhmm, so far we’ve talked about a lot of mysterious and miraculous things around us.
But.. we actually have a miraculous thing WITHIN us as well, right?
When we live with it we don’t really think about it. Soo.. Any idea?
Our wonderful bodies! Hmmf. Wonderful but still aching.
It’s so sad in the rush of our everyday life, we tend to forget that our body functions with an amazing system.
Yeah right.. Eventually whatever we are sensing or doing it’s all thanks to it. Speaking of the functions, some of them include the 5 basic senses. You wanna name them?
Taste, touch, smell, sight and hearing.
But actually did you know that humans could have up to 20 senses?
    Wow, 20?!
yeah. Can you believe that even itching is a sense? There are many more, like the ability to sense the heat, namely thermoception..
Yeah I think I remember hearing some things ending with “ception”. I never thought they were included in the senses!
I’ll go with another surprising number about our bodies. What is your blood type?
It’s AB negative. It’s the rarest one. [proudly]
Oh, you think so? I guess you actually haven’t heard about “the golden” blood type. Also I wouldn't say it so proudly if this type is found “RARE” when you possibly need it.
The golden blood type? I thought there were only types like A,B, O, AB?
Yes. Those are the main 4 groups most of us are familiar with. But there are actually over 30 blood groups in the world. The golden blood is the rarest of it.
    How rare?

  • What these plane crash survivors had to do to live
Aloha everyone! We’re starting the week so refreshed and full of nature, Yayy!
Definitely “full of nature” but I’m not gonna agree with you on being “REFRESHED”.
Don’t mind him, we had a really nice Sunday in Walden Pond.. What else would a person ask?!
I admit Walden is incredible, indeed. Only if you’re clever enough to make sure you’ve got enough gas to go back home. I mean, I just wanted a day trip. I wasn’t planning to settle in Walden like Henry David Thoreau. Just to make it clear for everyone; we spontaneously decided to drive to Walden Pond last sunday.
    Which was MY brilliant idea.
Yeah Also, you had that “brilliant idea” to fill only half of the gas tank. Instead of taking a walk by the lake, we ended up walking to find a gas station.
It was our mini survival adventure. Didn’t you still have a lot of fun, tho?
I can admit it served SOO well for a purpose. At some point, we got lost but we also found what we’re gonna be talking about today.
Yeah, so, buckle up fellas! And hold tight. This is your captain speaking; we’re gonna be flying a lot today.
“Let’s kick the tires and light the fires.” I’m not sure how you feel while flying on a plane but sometimes I can’t stop having some crazy scenarios in my mind.
It is more like a cradle for me. I start sleeping like a baby.
Let’s see if you could sleep like a baby this time. So, our plane is called Air Canada 143, supposed to fly from Montreal to.. Ottawa, I guess. Pre-flight check time! Do you know how fuel loading works for airplanes?
Uhm.. it should be through a device calculating.
True but there was a problem with the computer so the maintenance crew were calculating the fuel load manually.
    Uff.. that sounds stressful.
I mean they checked it like 3 times and everything seemed fine. She reached Ottawa with no problem but Captain Robert Pearson sensed that there was something wrong, so he had her checked again.
    Did anything come up?
Nope. With his co-pilot Maurice Quintal, they also concluded that she had around 45,000 pounds of fuel, which was MORE than enough. So they took off for Edmonton but in fact they had about half of that, around 22,300 pounds.
Whaaat? How could they miss it even tho they checked it like a thousand times?
There was one thing everybody missed out. Canada was switching from the imperial system of measurement to metric back then. So all the new planes including this beauty were programmed into a metric system.
Does it mean the crew calculated the necessary fuel intake according to pounds instead of kilos?
Exactly! So since 1 kg is around 2 pounds, the crew was filling the tank with the given number, thinking that it was supposed to be in pounds. It should’ve had 22,300kg on board but instead they calculated it as 22,300 pounds which is actually equal to 10,000kg.
Half of the amount needed! So what exactly happened when the last drop of fuel was used up?
They were already 41,000 feet high. At first the left wing gave some warning but it was not a serious thing. The plane could still fly. Then when the second warning appeared, They knew they literally got in a pickle!
I am really wondering how this is gonna end up as a survival story..
Thanks to our experienced captains! They decided to change the course to a closer place for an emergency landing. However, after a while, both engines stopped working entirely. In that case they had to say goodbye to George as well..
Can you see my goosebumps? [he shows his arm] If we were the pilots on that plane we would be sweating it out instead of joking around as usual. Who was George btw?
George is a nickname used for the autopilot system. Captain Pearson and Quintal were also terrified. They were checking the manuals but there was no instruction for a complete shutdown situation.
Didn’t they get in touch with the air traffic control?
Well, no engines, no radar responder. They couldn’t speak to anyone.
How did they figure it out then?

  • The strangest things happened in these villages
Hello hello! We are welcoming you on this beautiful sunny day.
And again, we gathered around our microphones to chat up a little.
I should tell you all, there is something different with my buddy here He looks so refreshed today.
I didn’t do much honestly. I’ve been to the barbershop. That’s the reason.
    That’s why you look younger!
Don’t you know that I am ALWAYS young! Can’t you feel my energy even from my voice? Tell me, what’s on the agenda today?
You surely are! I don’t know, maybe I'll be partying today since this is the weekend time.
“THE AGENDA” of today. You know, our podcast’s.. The thing we are literally doing at the moment?
Ahaa that agenda! Sorry I lost myself in the thoughts of partying. [giggles.]
First, let’s dive into some mysteries all together. Then you can continue partying in your head, or wherever..
Okay.. Party out, calmness in! But let me calm you down even more than necessary for a while. Imagine that you feel a little light-headed, your legs feel so heavy that you don’t want to walk anymore and you fall asleep within minutes. You wake up days later and remember nothing.
Sounds weird, right? But this was actually happening somewhere on our planet.
Today we are taking you all to some villages.
But they are not the ordinary ones..
Definitely not. Tell me, what comes to your mind when you hear the word “village”?
A tranquil place in nature where people live peacefully. What about you?
Something similar. Small houses, farms and lots of cows! Who’d tell I'd have some goosebumps when I read about all those crazy things about some of these so-called “peaceful” villages.
One of these villages is in Kazakhstan ; Kalachi. Here the story goes; one day, a man called Viktor tries to go to a nearby town but he never makes it there because on the way he suddenly falls asleep while riding!
Ooops! Then off to the hospital, right? Can he tell what happened?
He wakes up 4 days after, and remembers NOTHING!
The story becomes more odd when you find out there are MANY MORE cases like this in the same place. There is a woman who has experienced this “sleepy hollow” issue like 3 times! In her first time, she comes home from work and has a total black-out. She opens her eyes at the hospital a few days later.
Cherry on the top, Her neighbor rushes to take her back home. Also she falls asleep while driving! Her second time happens while preparing to see a concert. She starts feeling dizzy and ta daa! 5 days after she’s back in the hospital again!
I guess you are under the village effect! He has literally just yawned guys… Be careful you might miss out on your parties tonight.
Haha, I couldn’t help it. We keep talking about sleeping! Anyway, when the same woman experiences this 3rd time, it happens a little differently tho. She doesn’t fall asleep but her body goes numb. She can’t walk properly and she cannot remember what she tells people.
As if she was under anesthesia!
Yeah. In the same village, her husband goes fishing and ends up at the hospital after he blacks out like her. When he talks about what happened, his words don't really make sense.
I think She finally sees how she looked when this happened to her 3 times.
But still.. Questions remain.. How does this thing happen?
