  • What Your Laugh Reveals About Your Personality
There are two kinds of people in this world: the ones that LOL and those that ROFL. But laughter experts say that there are many more types. Are you a cackler? Or maybe you're a guffawer? So what does that say about you? You're are extroverted and sociable. One such person in a group of friends is enough to keep any party or conversation lively. By the way, some people start off laughing almost discretely and then burst out into a guffaw – that’s called a “carry-on” laugh, and it’s impossible not to join in!

  • That's Why Wires Are Colorful
We are so used to the stuff around our house that we don’t even think how it all works. What’s the water dripping from the AC? How does a microwave work? What do the lights on a Wi-Fi router mean? Why are the electrical wires colored the way they are?
But guys, please do not try to study the wires yourself, it can be dangerous. We’ll just show them to you from the Bright Side of life if you don’t mind. (That way, you can’t accidentally make your life, um, way brighter, you know.) In each country, the wire markings are different, but we'll tell you what they mean in the US.

  • What If Evolution Went Back?
Scientists think it took 3.5 billion years for us to evolve from single-celled organisms into our present state. If true, this means we are still mutating and evolving today. And we could, potentially, evolve in any direction. Maybe we’ll develop flight? Or transparency!
But what if some of our older genes re-emerged? Could we devolve into something closer to the ape-like form of every primate’s common ancestor?

  • Why My Smartphone Overheats and How to Stop It
The last decades were a wondrous time. We went from “brick” cell phones that barely fit into our pockets, to tiny devices everyone was always losing in their bags and purses. And then… back to giant cell phones eventually, but with several huge differences. They’re smart now.
But with great power come inevitable problems. That comfort is fragile enough to be ruined in mere seconds, simply by the overheating of a smartphone. So you should be careful enough with your choice of device. If your phone overheats regularly, this video is what you’ve been looking for.

  • 31 Most Googled Facts Ever
We, humans, are born with an innate curiosity. Most of the questions people search start with the word "why"! Why is the sky blue? Why do birds stand on one leg? Why are manholes round?
Do you know, for example, why flamingoes are pink? Or why sunsets on Mars are blue? Or why cats are afraid of cucumbers? (Btw, do NOT try to scare a cat friend with cucumbers. It's a big stress for your pet. Be nice.) So, care to learn the answers to the most common “whys”? Here you go!

  • That's Why There Is a Leap Day
Have you ever wondered where leap years come from? Where do they get those extra hours that add up to a whole day? And what if you’re born on a leap day?
A year is the period of time it takes the Earth to make a full circle around the Sun. The most accurate calculations say that our planet finishes its rotation after 365 days, 5 hours, and 48 minutes. Each year, 5 hours and 48 minutes are uncounted, and when 4 years pass, these hours and minutes add up to an extra day. But the calculations weren't always so exact.

  • Why Buses Open Doors on Railroad Tracks
Before it became law, school buses didn’t have to open their doors at railroads. Sure, they stopped to check for an oncoming train. But when visibility is low, say, in fog or during a snowstorm, that method can prove dangerously ineffective.
Everything changed in the 1930s, but the situation still wasn’t ideal. Originally, a student was assigned as a “lookout” during each ride. They’d get off the bus once it stopped and look both ways down the railroad crossing. This continued until it was decided that it was too big a responsibility put on these young volunteers’ shoulders.

  • Who Is the Fastest Living Being in the World?
What is the average person walking speed? Actually, humans aren’t that fast. They walk at a humble average speed of 3 mph. But they're already faster than a lot of other land-inhabiting creatures. For example, insects and other bugs are fast only for their tiny sizes.
Other animals with more comparable sizes to humans, like sloths, koalas, and giant tortoises, are also left far behind. Sloths live in places where it’s too risky to move fast because predators will see them. So, they move at a sluggish 0.15 mph. And giant tortoises clock out at a max of 0.3 mph. But these animals are among the slowest on our planet.

  • What Your Handwriting Might Say About You
They say the eyes are the window to the soul. But your handwriting just might be too! There's even a whole science that studies it – graphology. By the way, criminal investigators often work with them. And here’s how they figure out if someone tells a lie – there are drastic changes in their handwriting style throughout a text.
Anyway, graphologists determine different personality traits just by looking at the small details of someone's handwriting. Wanna find out yours? Then take a piece of paper and scribble any sentence on it. Put down your signature, too.
