This is the story.
In London, a top Russian spy contacts MI6 asking to defect.
When the defector disappears, Gabby Lane is sent to find him before an assassin can do their work to end his life.
At the same time, a long-term sleeper, embedded by Moscow twenty years ago, is now a British military officer, and is told by his controllers to steal a prototype battle tank.
Gabby discovers that the tank and the defector are linked and a deadly game is being played to sell military secrets to both Russia and to the West.
She must stop it happening before one side or the other considers the risk too great and triggers a chain of events that would damage East-West relations for a generation.
