Paige Hanson was nominated as a Beck’s Player with Heart for her efforts on and off the court. Her favorite part about high school sports is the bonds she has formed with her teammates. To Paige, agriculture has taught her valuable life lessons such as responsibility, hard work perseverance, time management, and patience. It has also given her countless opportunities to learn and grow. Paige is involved in volleyball, basketball, track, student council, yearbook, National Honor Society, and 4-H, and she is a member of several community organizations. After graduation, Paige plans to pursue a degree in animal science.

Katie Woodruff was nominated as a Beck’s Player with Heart for her efforts on and off the court. Her favorite part about high school sports is competing with friends and being a leader for her team. To Katie, agriculture is a way of life that she has grown to love. She has found her passion in her livestock projects and learned the importance of taking care of your animals and providing food for the community. Katie is involved in basketball, cross country, track and field, FFA, student council, TLC, yearbook club, 4-H, and National Honor Society, and serves as a lector at her local church. After graduation, Katie plans to pursue an agriculture degree related to animal science.

Beth Holst was nominated as a Beck’s Player with Heart for her efforts on and off the court. Beth’s favorite thing about high school sports is being able to connect with players of all ages. To Beth, agriculture means the future, we will always need it. The greatest thing about agriculture is that it’s for anyone, it doesn’t matter your background. Beth is involved in volleyball, FFA, and 4-H, and is a religion teacher at her church. After graduation, Beth wants to get a degree in criminal justice and use it serving her community. While that wouldn’t pertain to agriculture, she still wants to own cattle and help on her family’s farm.

Jocelyn Mann was nominated as a Beck’s Player with Heart for her efforts on and off the field/court. Jocelyn’s favorite thing about high school sports are the bonds she has created with her teammates and coaches. To Jocelyn, agriculture is everything we could need, meaning without agriculture, we wouldn’t have food or clothes and she wouldn’t be living the life she has if she didn’t have agriculture. Jocelyn is involved in basketball, soccer, FFA, Black Student Union, and Student Council, and is working to create a peer tutoring program. She is also involved with community ethic steering program and works to build and maintain the school garden and gardens around the twin cities. After graduation, Jocelyn plans to become an architect with emphasis in interior and landscape design.

Coy Pefley was nominated as a Beck’s Player with Heart for his efforts on and off the field. Coy’s favorite thing about high school sports is spending every day with his teammates and the loud crowds on Friday nights. To Coy, agriculture is more than just a job, it’s a true lifestyle. Coy is involved in football and golf and helps with his church’s youth group. After graduation, Coy plans to become a salesman at an auction company that specializes in agricultural and construction equipment sales.

Kennedy Wagaman was nominated as a Beck’s Player with Heart for her efforts on and off the court. Her favorite thing about high school sports is the girt, hard work, passion, and fight that is required every day. She also loves the support from the community and the rivalry between schools. Agriculture has been a huge part of Kennedy’s life, teaching her so many life skills and providing many opportunities. Kennedy is involved in volleyball, track and field, FFA, Beta, 4-H, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). After graduation, Kennedy plans to play college volleyball and pursue a degree in either criminology, forensics, psychology, or sports psychology.

Grady Dodds was nominated as a Beck’s Player with Heart for his efforts on and off the field. His favorite thing about high school sports is developing lifelong friendships with his teammates and conquering goals together. Growing up around agriculture and working with his dad and grandpa on the farm has taught Grady to work hard and how it affects so many in the community. Grady is involved in football, basketball, track, golf, and 4-H. After graduation, Grady hopes to play college football and major in sports marketing while also growing his angus cow herd.

Oliver Louden was nominated as a Beck’s Player with Heart for his efforts on and off the field. His favorite thing about high school sports is being able to play ball with his friends and have fun. To Oliver, agriculture is a way to help people. He has grown up in a family that has farmed for generations and loved every day of helping out. Oliver is involved in football, wrestling, track, and FFA, and helps out with church and other community activities. After graduation, Oliver plans to attend Iowa State for a degree in agriculture and then hopefully take over the family farm.
