In our first episode of Horror Movie Month, we have french toast, Melted Witch Martinis, and a whole lot of Halloween wordplay. We discover that Hope knows a lot about steel mills (for some reason), and that Summer really, really likes Halloween. We watched A Talking Cat!?!, so check out the film that has 59 establishing shots and "no production value." It's the 90's and the advent of the internet has brought some of the most talented (and edgiest, woah) people out of the woodwork--hackers. These tech-savvy rebels wow us with their definitely not lame nicknames and totally cool fashion statements. Check out Hackers to see how the internet definitely works, and Angelina Jolie's hairstyle that while isn't great, isn't as bad as her hair in Gone in 60 Seconds. Or just let us run you through it. 

TL; DR: We ate "nerd fuel," made a questionable acid green cocktail and learned what 90's high school hackers were supposedly like. 

This Keanu Reeves movie takes place in a faraway future world. One year in the future, to be precise. It's 2021, and capitalism has run its natural course--corporations now hire the Yakuza to assassinate hapless data couriers, who carry precious information in their brains via implanted data storage devices. Reeves' Johnny is one of these data couriers--but this lucrative career has cost him his childhood memories. Now Johnny has to do "just one more job" so he can get the money to have the implant removed, and get back his memory of that one birthday party. 

Sure, 2020 sucks, but wait til next year. We're going to be dressing like it's the 80's and constantly dodging the Yakuza. Oh yeah, and the using the internet will be  w  e  i  r  d. 

How did Mac and Me end up being one of the most notorious bad movies of all time? By somehow simultaneously being a shameless ripoff of a beloved classic AND a shameless corporate cash grab. This 1988 movie tries to recreate the magic of E.T., but fails miserably. The alien family we're supposed to fall in love with is unsettling at best, horrifying at worst. The friendship between the titular Mac and wheelchair-bound Eric is nonexistent, but we're supposed to be touched by it. It's true that if you replaced all the upbeat and hopeful music with something a little darker, this could be a horror movie--but we guarantee that you'll laugh. See why a scene from this movie is the amazing Paul Rudd's all-time favorite movie scene.

Another Cage Classic drops hard for Nic Cage Month. We watched Con Air, some of us for the first time ever (Summer, obviously), and we had a lot to say. So choose your side--The "good guys"(parolee Cameron Poe and the Department of Erections, I mean Corrections)--or the "bad guys," a collection of brutal psychopathic murderers and rapists who all have asinine nicknames for some reason. Either way, the real bad guy is probably the privatized prison system? 🤔
