    Bside Incoming: St. Sunday
The latest instalment of Bside incoming is brought to you by Jamie Pettinger who goes by the name of St. Sunday.
His involvement in the life and soul of Edinburgh’s music scene needs no overstatement: as a curator for bands and DJ’s at the city’s much loved venue Sneaky Pete’s, and the co-founder and director of EH-FM (Edinburgh’s independent community radio station featuring some of Scotland's best local talent as well as his own monthly genre-spanning show called Home Listening).
An hour will seamlessly drift by with this moody mix of hypnotic house, delving into the Canadian underground scene, showcasing some of America’s deepest grooves and of course a fair share of more locally sourced gems from the likes of Lord of the Isles, Tom VR, and Linkwood.
Tune in for a deep and melodic adventure through the Bside of St. Sunday’s record collection.

    Ep. 32: Brain Dancing
Following on from a great episode from Tiptoes last week we’re bringing you some more exciting local Glaswegian talent by the name of Rob Etherson. He’s one half of Brain Dancing, a regular party at Glasgow’s celebrated Berkley Suite, an accomplished DJ duo that features at many of Scotland’s best parties, and two pretty handy producers with releases on their hometown label Optimo Music as well as Berlin’s Boys Noize sub label BNR Trax.
Feast your ears on ‘House in E’, their dark and dirty late night wobbler as the final track of their Plugged In EP. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIez3VwD7XM)
Rob boasts a pretty amazing vinyl collection and he was kind enough to give us the low down on some of his favourites. We loved the energy of his chatty style, blasting through so many of the dancey tracks in his record bag, giving us real personal journey through so much of his music which has brought the energy to many a dance floor. Particular mention to the lovely wee anecdote of a chance encounter with the provider of one of our best episodes to date : Bobby Analog (Episode 5 of our Incoming series is definitely worth a listen if you haven’t already).
Here you go, a large dose of club ready heat for a big Saturday night lock in.

Ep. 31: Anna Gram (LEZZER QUEST)
Anna Gram, an excellent selector, a true Queen of the dancefloor, one half of LEZZER QUEST, and a resident at SHOOT YOUR SHOT (SYS); Scotland's beloved queer club night that epitomises what dance music is all about: inclusivity and positivity.
LEZZER QUEST have been tearing up many of Scotland's most revered venues, earning them a spot in The List's Hot 100 of 2019, and a place on Sub Club's roster of residents. Being part of SYS and LQ has allowed Anna to play alongside some of the scene's biggest names...Eris Drew and Octo Octa, to name a couple.
This mix is what Bside is all about; a biography of her favourite records from her formative years and the musical influences that brought Anna to where she is today. This is a true journey through the genres, some disco, trance, hard house, even a Kate Bush track, and a healthy dose of “face melters" that can "inject a a dose of energy’ into any party.
The last episode recorded live in Glasgow before lockdown, from the Palais de Danse Records shop on Sauchiehall Street, this one’s sure to bring some love to your Queerantine.

    Bside incoming: B from E
And here it is, the latest instalment of Bside Incoming brought to you by B from E. Like much of the electronic music emerging from Denmark of late, B from E seems to have an innovative cutting edge to his sound, as demonstrated by the captivatingly progressive dancescape ‘Waves’ on the B1 of his first release with his native Copenhagen Underground Posse. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuIz7RLHrKI&feature=emb_logo)
A year later, and another Bside gem with ‘Positive Sister (2605 Tool)’, a club ready, steady slow burner, this time on Tartelet, another label from the Danish capital with its finger very much on the pulse. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=94&v=w7ynEQZKhuM&feature=emb_logo)
His latest venture, this time the pulsating energy of ‘2605 Brothers’ featuring as a B2 under Italian label 'Traxx Underground’; highly regarded for releasing a consistently excellent offering from the deep and rhythmic of house music since 2012. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NVDhg_M4K4)
Aside from his production prowess, B From E also proves to be a top selector with an impressive record collection. We couldn’t wait to bring you his Bside mixtape, so just relax and allow this Danish digger to wash you clean with some deep and soothing house/techno/electro/trance beats, each infused with the tale behind each track, where the treasure was found, and what they mean to the man himself.
Particular mentions to the 'CFM Band presents Rey's Soul Generation: Welcome Back Brother James (Acid Jazz Mix)' with its beautiful rising energy, and also to the ultimate track ‘Rosenhaft’ from CCMF which is sure to bring a ray of sunshine to your day.

  • Bside incoming: REES

Follow the facebook here - www.facebook.com/BsidePodcasts/
Watch out. Bside Incoming!! For the 7th instalment of the Incoming series we welcome REES.
Known for his technical versatility and expansive selection, REES has become a household name in DJ booths across the UK & Europe. With smooth mixing capabilities, he is able to span through many different genres with ease - from rattling techno to harmonious disco and house beats, his sets are equally vigorous and unique.
As well as being an excellent disk jockey, REES has an impressive array of productions under his belt. Speaking with us, he was excited to tell of an upcoming release which he describes as “a breakbeat EP very different to anything I’ve put out before, with remixes from Matrixxman & A. Sagittariun.” Perhaps we’ll soon get a glimpse over on his show on Balamii radio which airs on the second Sunday of each month from 10am - 11am. We’ll be listening carefully.
On top of that he’s the founding father of Paradiso Records. Now it doesn’t take a genius to work out what “paradiso” translates into from Italian… that’s right – Paradise. As label head and hotly tipped producer in his own right REES elaborates, “the philosophy behind the name comes from our admiration of so many different styles of electronic music so we try to display and capture ‘everyone’s idea of music paradise’”. It is an endeavour that has been paying dividends since their birth in 2018, with the imprint regularly putting out top-quality dance music that can vary from gritty Electro to feel-good Disco infused House.
Paradiso are more than just a label too, with the initial idea being “to have a record label accompanied with a blog/magazine type online website where our fans could read up on our latest music, interviews, artist top 10 picks etc.”. They have a string of digital releases under their belt, however entering the physical market is also something high on the agenda for the young label. In the meantime the team have set up a “Paradiso Presents” party series that will see events pop-up across the UK. As REES makes certain, “the main aim of the label is simply to spread emotion and non-stop dancing” – cannot get much better than that now can you?
For his Bside mix he pulls out some of his favourite records. South African synths and Nigerian brass from 70’s and 80’s fill the grooves first, moving into warm italo synthesisers - a much welcomed sound in these cold months. Close your eyes, lay back in that hammock, kick off your sandals and enjoy the sunshine from REES' collection.

We are so excited to finally bring this episode to you all (it is definitely episode 28 so just ignore Stephens intro) and we can quite safely say this is one of the best yet. Nathan brought an incredible selection with him, including some seriously rare tunes, down to the institution that is Rubadub to record his Bside. Before going B2B with his good friend Avalon Emerson all night long at La Cheetah Club!
If you don’t already know him, you will have more than likely heard his music played at clubs and festivals over the last couple of years. Tracks like The Party We Could Have and Beginning Ballads have been a staple of many sets throughout Europe and beyond.
Having released under the alias Bwana since 2011, originally producing post-dubstep and moving towards housey vibes, Nathan rebranded to his own name. Since then he has released countless remix’s/edits, multiple EPs, his debut album Blue Spring on the amazing LuckyMe and has set up 3 record labels - Schvitz Edits, Eternal Schvitz and Original Schvitz.
This is Nathan's unofficial audition for BBC Radio 1, and we think he absolutely smashed it! Expect some of the best trance ever to grace your earholes, some wicked breaks and garage and of course a bit of Joni Mitchell because Canada🇨🇦
Big shouts to the guys at Rubadub for having us, and of course thanks to Holly Mickey for the beautiful artwork www.instagram.com/mollyth.art/
