    Ep. 26 RUF DUG:
What a treat we have for you this time! Episode 26 of the Bside live series is brought to you by world class DJ and Producer, passionate vinyl digger and record store owner, NTS Radio host, member of Cherry Garcia, Rüf Kutz bossman, and long time staple of Manchester’s booming nightlife... Ruf Dug.
‘Rüf Dug presents the Committee’, released on Rhythm Section International in April last year, provided one of our favourite Bsides of 2019, thanks to a collaborative approach which brought us two amazing tracks: ‘All U Get 2 Do’ with Bradley Zero and ‘Sunrise’ with Natalie Wildgoose. (listen here -https://rufdug.bandcamp.com/tr…/sunrise-ft-natalie-wildgoose)
His Bside mixtape remains true to his electrifying style. Intricate details, groovy basslines, rhythmic percussions and euphoric horns. This a true showcase of his amazing record collection and proof of his turntable talents as you move through ambient soundscape into a deep funky throb, a few deliciously dubby numbers and a some soulful ska. We also bring you a (likely) exclusive exposure of his most expensive Bside which the man himself describes as “really shit”. But don’t worry he’ll let you listen to the “real side” which we’re sure you’ll agree is “mega”.
Huge thanks to Ruf Dug for agreeing to come on the show! The music industry is filled with sound people who have a passion for sharing music, we really appreciated his time and everyone else we have had on the show. Give Ruf Dug some support.

For Ep. 25 we welcome the 3rd French selector onto the show - Eva Crystaltips.
Rising fast through the ranks on the UK disco circuit, Eva has had an impressive year, gaining nationwide recognition for her skill, selection and finesse behind the decks. With sets at Lost Village Festival, Ministry of Sound, Snowbombing and most notably, a huge gig at London's five thousand capacity venue Printworks, she has gained support from Artwork, Peggy Gou and Honey Dijon and share the stage with disco heavyweights including Horse Meat Disco, Hot Chip and Greg Wilson.
Her Bside mix stays true to her style, infusing a mix of old original classics to the newer modern edits and remixes which both deliver a dose of nostalgia while keeping the floor guessing with her ever expanding collection of contemporary funk, soul, house and disco. Her energetic blend of the undeniable classics and fresh disco edits brings a dose of nostalgia and an element of the unpredictable to keep any audience on their toes.

We are very pleased to present you episode 23 of Bside from Bellaire.
It was a pleasure to welcome the Parisian DJ and producer for another Bside live session from house of Gods. The first record played was from the 90's and caused a dust buildup on the needle, so every second track until we cleaned the needle properly sounds a bit unclear, appologies! The recording took place as a 'pre drinks' before his set at We Do Disco's party.
What a lovely occasion to bring you a sneak peak into the record bag of new and dusty old vinyls one of house musics rising stars. An excellent showcase of his repertoire : 70s disco, 90s house from Masters at Work (clearly a staple of his collection and a big influence on his productions), indian disco jazz, and soulful party tracks. Buckle up for funky filled party starting vibes.
There are so many of his own tracks that we love from the Frenchman, where to start… a few of his Bsides perhaps:
Some more peak time club equipped house - 'Spiritual Thang' on the B1 of the EP framework

'Some Jazz To Make Love On' on the B2 of Paris city jazz -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWwRimC3jS0
This deep under rated and overlooked gem 'Jazzy Rhodes' from the b3 of the Ep. framework - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edSDg6ZAp2c
Big thanks to Bellaire Music for the show, House of Gods for letting us record it in their lovley cocktail bar, and Holly Mickey for the beautiful artwork as always. Check out here art here - www.instagram.com/mollyth.art/

  • Ep. 22 Dansa & Provost (Palidrone)
Watch the video of DJs spinning the records (and all previous live recordings) on Facebook, and follow to keep up with Bside news - www.facebook.com/BsidePodcasts/
After the last few soulful selections, we’re glad to bring you a dark and electronic focused edition as the winter nights draw in. Dansa & Provost (2 core residents from Palidrone) bring some buzz. Travelling from 90s hardcore house, via tasty breakbeats, all the way to a deep techno throb before our final stop at euphoric chaos.
We are very pleased to present the show on Palidrone's 2nd birthday! Palidrone have cemented themselves as a key component of the Edinburgh scene, injecting a much needed dose of all things weighty and guaranteeing an emphatic explosion of energy.
They have recently appeared at Sneaky Petes as part of the ever impressive Wednesday night residency Heaters. Whilst also bringing some of the worlds most cutting edge artists to Scotland’s capital: DMX Krew, Giant Swan, and SPFDJ B2B VTSS. Today they just released their next party with DJ Stingray + Solid Blake which will be held in February - https://www.facebook.com/events/1407962662686150/

    www.facebook.com/BsidePodcasts/
Bside Incoming!! This instalment is our fifth show of the Incoming series (where DJs who can't make it to Scotland to record a live Bside mix send us their favourite B-sdies online) and this time it’s all the way from Germany - Joe Cleen.
A Berlin based producer who has operated under many monikers in the last 20 years, he has released records on such prestigious labels as Sloth Boogie and Jazz Cabbage. Most recently featuring on the A2 of the new Repsies EP with a sunny disco edit full of nostalgia and energy.

Not limiting himself to producing, Joe has made a strong name for himself as a disk jockey. Treating his listeners to some of the gems in his record collection which he began at the budding young age of 11. His Bside Incoming mix is testament to his passion for synthy disco, sweet soulful grooves and joyful jazz. Certainly one to warm your cockles as the winter sets in.
What a pleasure it is to have him on the show.
    Enjoy

  • Ep. 21 Astrojazz
Watch the mix and keep up with all Bside news here - www.facebook.com/BsidePodcasts/
It all began in 1997, when Astrojazz bought his first turntables. 22 years later and he has become a master in spinning records across a wide range of genres; jazz, hip-hop, soul, afrobeat, and house. His passion for music has taken him across the globe, from Glastonbury Festival, to nightclubs in Cape Town, and even Finnish jazz clubs – he has played toe to toe with some of the industry’s finest: Gilles Peterson, Mr Scruff, Bonobo, Candi Station, Guru & Jazzmatazz, Tony Allen, Roy Ayers, Quantic Soul Orchestra to name but a few. Yet, he will always be most appreciated for his influence in the local scene, his Samedia Shebeen events are a solid staple of the Edinburgh nightlife, while his involvement with Kelburn Garden Party and the wee DUB festival provides some of the standout dates in the Scottish music calendar for the lucky punters who are able to attend.
This episode of Bside is already one of our favourites, the mix perfectly encapsulates the concept of our podcast series. Astrojazz will take you on a journey through his collection whilst telling the tale behind each record. A nostalgia fuelled transmission of his all time favourite Bsides, a rough around the edges reminiscence of his favourite parties, and an insight into the musical journey that brought him to where he is now.
    Enjoy

  • Ep. 20 Calum Archibald (Bside)
Happy 1st Birthday Bside! We cant believe it's already been a whole year.
And what a year it's been. We have brought you 25 fortnightly shows, releasing some of the finest Bsides from selectors near (Edinburgh and Glasgow) and far (Dublin, London, Naples, Berlin, Lyon, and NYC). It’s been a great privilege to host some of our biggest inspirations including Glenn Astro, Gnork, Hidden Spheres, Waxist, and Bobby Analog onto the Bside airwaves, and a pleasure to showcase the music to you lot. It is safe to say we are really grateful for all the support and anyone who has come along and listened to the mixes live, or streamed it online.
To celebrate such an occasion Bside's boss man, Calum Archibald, delves deep into his collection and extracts some of his personal favourites from the flip side. If you’ve seen him spinning records with Samedia Shebeen, the EDL (Edinburgh Disco Lovers), or Disco Makossa, or even warming up for the likes of O’flynn, Marshal Jefferson, and Aroop Roy then you know what to expect: Disco, Soul, Jazz from across the globe, some soothing house rhythms and of course a selection of floaty electro and breakbeat.
We’ve got some exciting things planned going forward, not least our new home at House of Gods, bring on year two!
    And, as always…
    Enjoy!

  • Ep. 19 Artiisan
For Ep.19 of the Bside live series, we are joined by the Edinburgh based trio - Artiisan. As always on the show, the DJs were invited to show off their favourite records, being restricted to only playing the B-side.
Artiisan aim to showcase an eclectic mix of electronic music through their bookings and their own DJing. Based between The Bongo Club and The Mash House, their past guests include Skillis, TSVI and recently Volruptus who delivered a range of sounds from UK techno to fast-paced electro.
The Artiisan residents strayed from their characteristic fast and heavy sounds, bringing a wide range of records to the live Bside mix. Expect some Soul, hip hop, jazzy/deep house, garage, and mellow DnB.
    Enjoy!

  • Ep. 18 Hand-made
Watch the episode (and all previous live recordings) on Facebook, and follow to keep up with Bside news - www.facebook.com/BsidePodcasts/
Ahhhh, it feels good to be back home. After a string of international guests sending in mixes as well as recordings in Glasgow, the 18th episode of the Bside live series is back in Edinburgh. As always on Bside, the DJs were invited to showcase their record collection, limited to only playing B-sides. Our guests for this episode are the ever growing and exciting Edinburgh based trio, Hand-made.
Hand-made have made a proper dent in the Edinburgh scene and beyond in the last year. They are Hectors go-to residents and have played alongside Levon Vincent, DJ Haus, Hammer and Telfort (to name a few) in multiple different venues. The mix sticks to Hand-made's characteristic warm n' sleazy Italo/Afro tracks that they are renowned for.
